New DeathMatch Game Modes

  • DEATHMATCH - classic deathmatch, you can set frag limit to win.
  • TIMED DEATHMATCH - try to kill as much as you can in a set time limit (that you can alter as well).

New DeathMatch weapons

  • RPG
  • FLAMEGUN

New DeathMatch hazards

  • EXPLODING BARRELS
  • BURNING VINES
  • TOXIC BARREL (objnum 80)

New DeathMatch rules

  • Self-Kill decreases your frag count, you can self-kill using environmental hazards as well.
  • You can get a frag also by killing the other player using environmental hazards.

Adding new customs maps

Add a map to gamemaps (symbols.bmp for ChaosEdit in subfolder).
Make preview file of appropriate name in \lwmp\pics
using DM[map number] format.

NOTE 1: Don't forget to add multiple player starts!
NOTE 2: Without those map preview files in the folder - exe acts as normal SplitWolf coop exe.
NOTE 3: Floor code defines item respawn delay

If there was a way to remove all AI enemies, and configure networking support for online play, even the most rudimentary implementation, would be revolutionary.
It would be the genesis of the online first-person shooter at its most barebones form, a true successor to what Maze War sought out to achieve.
There's even separate game modes just like what later games in the genre have implemented.
It would need to be on ECWolf though, not dos. So it's probably not possible.

Wolf3D code is very not fit the multiplayer, unlike splitscreen concept, to make something like that would need major rework on the engine's core.
That's alot of effort and far from our expertise, might happen sometimes in the future, who knows.
