here is way how to fix it.
Download notepad or word pad. (free)
you also need win.rar/zip
open BF2/mods/SOW1.6/objects_server/weapons/handheld/chsht_protecta/chsht_protecta.tweak and open that file with notepad/word pad
then you open it you will see those lines in start:

nomad_sht_striker12 replace to ak74. It should work now. Also if you have more questions to ask be free to do that ;)
* note, HUD icon will be replaced with ak74 icon, but it will not change gun.
What about the crash related to the AI attempting to use the RPG?
Yep! Poor AI can't even rpg
