Recreation of The Battle of Thermopylae of 480 B.C. focusing on the Spartans and last stand for Greece. The multiplayer will be a beast of its own mainiting the art, style, and fighting sense, but recreating the gameplay. It will be oriented towards the war as a whole instead of the single battle. Will be including updates as game design decides on more set in stone factors. (These lists will be added to as we become for sure on the gameplay) Singleplayer including: -Ten hours of gameplay -Battle formations recreating troop combat of the Spartan Phalanx -Calling on you to use group combat constantly giving you 4 Spartans at your side, and requiring you do use strategy to overcome the odds Multiplayer including: -Multiple classes and a ranking system that unlocks characters as you rank up in the Greek or Persian army -Multiple fighting modes including a lenghty campaign mode, waging the war until there is a clear victor.

As far as help wanted we still need more... everything, from coders to environmental modellers, to texture artist, we need it all so if you would like to join an extremely promising team, shoot me an email with the position you would like, along with samples.

It has the name 300, they could easily C&D it, and I believe that after being ordered to cease and desist you have to abandon the mod, not just change the name

Pshh let's see them C&D something based off history. The name is only temporary anyway; at least until we get threatened. Easy to just base it off the real battle itself.

If it is supposed to be based on history, not the comic book; why stylize the models?

if you want to base it on history you should change the Leonidas model. Not only is he too close to Gerard Butler but in reality Leonidas was 62 at Thermopylae, not 40.

I'm not speaking on behalf of the team. I'm just listing possible ways to get around copyright infringement. You can talk to the leader instead if you're that curious.

Alright, well like I said if you wish to talk about that further you may contact the leader. Here is not the place.

Wow - you got an awesome character modeler. Really good z-brush and mudbox skills there. I wish I had any of these programs, but they are way to expensive for me and in the end I don't want to be sued for something I only did out of fun.
Call the Mod Triacosia (Greek) or CCC (Roman), because you are deemed to get into trouble with the title. Maybe not at the start, but what can be worse than to be shut down when you have finished the project (like HaloGen)?

It might have something to do with the fact that he is.

What I meant by the other comments, is that I'm not the leader, so anything I say is not 100% "official" or set in stone. It's just something we've discussed so I thought it would be a better answer than nothing.

it looks good but the problem is that itll never make it ingame that way, itll be lowpoly with a prerendered high poly skin for shading... prolly? am i right?

I'm not in the team, but Unreal Engine 3's UnrealED blends the different meshes into one, so you will actually see a high quality model with comparably low poly count. I think the poly limit for characters is around 10000 in Unreal Engine 3, but they can actually look like a million polygons. That's what makes this engine shine more than anything else I know.
