SOULSTORM: ENHANCED

This is reupload of mod made by Morat which expands Soulstorm singleplayer campaign with new units for most of races by using FoK mod units with their approval and keeps gameplay close to vanilla.

Note that most of the screenshots have mention of additional skin pack that isn't part of this mod but can be used as addition, this mod stays very close to vannila in gameplay terms , just that it adds additional units and some units are unlockable on campaign map.


INTRODUCTION

Thank you for your interest in Soulstorm: Enhanced. This mod is intended to add a small selection of additional units to Soulstorm, in order to increase variety and flexibility with minimal changes to the core gameplay.


INSTALLATION

Unpack the contents of this file into your main Soulstorm folder. Then activate the Soulstorm: Enhanced Mod through the mod manager.

To uninstall, simply delete the SSEnhanced folder and Enhanced.module from your Soulstorm folder.

I don't see any mention of it anywhere, but for me, I have a pretty big problem with the campaign missions for this mod. Namely, when I activate the mod, I can't read anything. All the text is replaced with squares, and there's other graphical glitches as well, which make it generally unplayable. I like the Enhanced mod, but whatever is causing this graphics issue is not good.

So, I tried this out, and I did put together a little list of issues, hardly comprehensive, just a number of things I noticed - I don't know if you have any plans to update this with any fixes, but I'll throw them here just in case:

-Many Icons are invisible unless they are actually available to use, making it very easy to miss options that may become available with certain research or upgrades.

-Kommandos (Orks) and Striking Scorpions' (Eldar) infiltrate ability is not functional. They do not begin infiltrated, and do not benefit from infiltration research.

-When the 'Ard Boyz add their leader unit to the Squad, the movement speed of the entire squad is made slower due to the Mega Armor Nob's slow speed, and squads always moving at the speed of the slowest unit. This isn't so much a bug or something not working, as much as it is an inconvenience in that building the leader unit can be an active detriment to the unit. The Surge ability that boosts speed deals its damage to every unit in the squad as well, making it devastatingly costly to activate.

-Dire Avengers (Eldar), when the Exarch's Bladestorm ability is activated, appear to have no visual cue to show the ability has been activated.

- Hardened Veterans (Imperial Guard) do not indicate that they are an Infiltration unit in their tooltip. They're the only unit that uses infiltrate that does not say so.

- The Medic's icon for the Command Squad (Imperial Guard) makes it difficult to see the number indicating how many are in the squad; use of that number to identify if one needs replaced is useful in the heat of combat when it can be hard to pick a squad out in a crowd. More a nitpick, but I threw it in.

- Dominion Squads' Veteran Superiors (Sisters of Battle) do not benefit from Leader unit Weapon Upgrades at the Pristine Sanctuary. When other Sisters of Battle leaders have Inferno Pistols and Power Swords, this unit leader keeps its chainsword and bolt pistol.

- The Gue'vesa'ui (Tau) Icon becomes a blank pink square once the leader is purchased.

- The readme suggests the Tau Tetra is playable, but does not appear to be available in skirmish mode. Doesn't appear to be buildable from any building that I could see.

- Space Marine Honor Guard for the campaign for Gurmun's Pass appears to be a Vindicare Assassin?

To say nothing of the multitude of tooltip issues throughout the mod, either not updated to account for tech tree changes, or wonky Honor Guard tooltips in the campaign.

I agree with You, this mod is in working beta , I am only uploader , the creator named Morat has gave permission for other people to continue working on the mod if they wish.

My modding skills and preference is mostly on editing textures which I have uploaded for some in comments.

Currently I am retexturing Total Warhammer units , though if needed I could help if someone tries to do coding and unit abilities.
I would also love to play this mod in more polished state.

I talked to original creator Morat ( Im just uploader and I retexture things for fun) and he said that he doesn't mod anymore and that he is ok with posting it here or editing mod so long as he is mentioned in credits.

There are some texture issues in original mod ( Chaos marine units, some ELdar aspects and Chaos Lords so it is needed to copy correct textures in folder)

I started changing some textures in Dow Enhanced for my personal use since the way I do it makes team color in skirmish same as campaign for all chapters of faction.

And Later I started editing Dow Revised mod since it adds some Dawn of War 2 assets like Wraithguard and Wraithlord with even sync kills and has some nice things but has lot of bugs too.

Morat the original creator of the mod gave permission to edit this mod. So be free to edit it , fix bugs and upload it for people to use it.

I uploaded textures I use personally there are some that I edited like "Dais of Destruction" or Incubi, Warlocks etc there are in the links below.

Though they should be sorted so that they are only active in campaign and not in skirmish.

Also since races are placed in folders ( orks, eldar etc it is possible to use only ones you like)"
