Solace Dreams is a tale about a girl trapped in limbo. She must find her class mates and try to escape.
Solace Dreams is a horror survival, taking inspirations from games like silent hill and darksouls. The player will face off against a large variety of enemies & bosses in some of the most unique locations ever seen from a doom mod. This total conversion is standalone made to run exclusively for GzDoom, using such features like dynamic lighting and animated voxels. It has a estimated game play length of 2+hours and infinite replayability with newgame plus.

It's been a while since I heard from this, glad to see this release!
Great work and gem so far. I saw many games using voxels, but never so many fluently animated ones. Btw, nice first easter egg - I like also the old bullfrog titles and this was a funny unexpected meat again.
looks very interesting!but unfortunately i cant get any sounds.neither in menu or game.
please help!
thanks.
The game is lagging so much it's unplayable for me :/
it does the same to me...i eventually beat the first boss somehow but the second level is even worse...i really want to play it but can't :(

Absolutely awful, 2/10. Clearly a lot of work went into this (hence it's not a zero) and I want to rate it highly, as I did have fun with it initially, but my entire enjoyment of the game was ruined by the mirror maze followed by the ghost boss fight in the carnival level.
The ghost boss is not clear how to defeat, there's not enough ammo (requiring you get close fore melee), the ghost can attack instantly with very short telegraphing and the mirror maze lags my PC despite my 2080 Super.
This makes the mirror maze a headache inducing slideshow, which also teleports you around such that you cannot reliably find the exit by following a wall. This is not a game ruiner in itself, the problem is that there's no save point just prior to the boss fight.
This means, since this boss fight is especially inscrutable (compared to the prior boss, the knight, who was very straightforward) you're guaranteed to die frequently. Which means you'll have to get through the mirror maze, the most aggravating part of the level, every time you go to make another attempt to defeat the ghost boss.
This combination of an inscrutable boss fight, the inability to save beforehand, the lack of ammunition forcing you to get in close, the boss's quick attacks with very brief telegraphing and forcing the player to solve the mirror maze every time they make another boss fight attempt completely destroyed my enjoyment of, and regard, for this otherwise technically stunning accomplishment of Doom engine game design.
That's a shame too because it has some of the nicest voxel objects and animations I have ever seen in any game before, but I can't get past how hair pullingly frustrating and nausea inducing the mirror maze, followed by the ghost boss, is in practice.
Incidentally, I wandered around the depopulated level for about an hour before discovering the key to the mirror maze, because the key is tiny and lies flat. In Shadow Warrior (which also has voxel keys) the keys stand on edge, which is unrealistic but makes them easier to see.
If you want to fix all of this, it would be simple to do. Have the ghosts that are possible to harm be visually distinct from the ones that aren't. Remove teleportation from the mirror maze. Add a save point right before the boss, so the player only has to solve the maze once. Lengthen the telegraph period prior to the ghost knife attacks. Finally, make the key stand on edge so it's easier to see.
Yo,you can play the levels in any order, and the game explicitly tells you to on the death screen. I've cleared the school already, besides the boss, and I'm assuming the shotgun is in one of the other levels, meaning you can use all those shells you've been collecting. tell me if you figure out a fix for the fps, tho. The dev is working on a remake, and you can join his discord from this mods description to follow it.
The doors in the classroom aren't locked for you? They're locked for me, and unlock as I beat the levels in order.
Sorry for the grief the game has been for you, i agree its poorly optimized and honestly ive wiped my hands with it, hense the remake in development.
You can make items twinkle by pressing Q i think for those hard to see areas. But ideally i would avoid playing this until the remake is done. THanks for taking the time anyways its always a pleasure
is there any way this can run on gzdoom for android.
I can get it to run past the intro then it's just a black room with a small light I can walk towards, but can't do anything else
Haven't tried Solace Dreams specifically, but I'd recommend you try Delta Touch, it's the most up-to-date source port on Android.
try up the gamma and brightness in the settings, worked for me

having a really hard time reading the text above the character portrait. Any way i can make it larger and more bold?
All I can see is a black screen after the intro cutscene. The character portrait is present but that's all. Not sure if someone has a fix but I thought I'd mention it.
unplug playstation controler an restart, it ***** with the game
