So, for a long time (around 3 years or so) this mod was just something I made for myself, but after some-time I decided I should share my mod with the community so others can enjoy it! Therefore, I've decided to completely rework my mod and make it as best as I can with the capability I have. Keep in mind, I have a lot planned, and this is my first mod so please be patient, together with the community's help I feel this could be really something! :)

This mod is, and will be in constant development where time permits, so stay tuned! ***

The situation has changed:

The environment within Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion has become increasingly chaotic. Many rogue factions in the galaxy are now desperate for loot, Pirates raid wherever the money is, and to make things worse, the scale of the frequent raids is unknown. The TEC Loyalists, being loyal capitalists and dedicated to trading and commerce, stay with their companies and corporations to guard their planets from aggressors, while the TEC Rebels have completely disbanded. Greed and squabbling over systems and resources has lead the TEC Rebel Empires to split into spin-off Pirate factions, lashing out at anyone necessary to keep themselves going.

IMPORTANT: If you already don't like Pirates and other bottom feeding scum of the galaxy raiding your planets, you may want to stay away from this dodgy galaxy.

Key Features (some of them!):

  • TEC has split into loyal Capitalists and Pirates. (Traders and Pirates).
  • Allows the player to play as a Pirate Faction.
  • All Pirate vessels and structures available to the player.
  • The player can play as Pirates, which replaces TEC Rebel.
  • Reworked Pirate Raids.
  • Unknown Pirate Raid strength, causing chaos as to how bad the raid is going to be when the pirate raid launches. x) This means, when you buy a raid, eg, a medium raid (color yellow) you actually can't tell what's going to happen. Raids are determined by the amount of money offered either on the bounty menu or a private mission and a double-cross chance. More on this below.
  • Pirates are Pirates! There is no telling what the raid will be when it happens....or if it happens....never trust a pirate. It doesn't mean the player can't interact with them, just be aware that the pirates in this mod are not stupid like vanilla.
  • Pirates are now capable of double-crossing players that interact with them. Backstabbing them at will where a profit can be made. The double-cross chance can vary depending on what mood the pirates are in and the loot / money involved! If you buy a private mission with them, they may send something, or laugh at your stupidity and commit to no such attack, taking your hard earned credits for nothing! Or, they might take your credits, and attack you with your own investment......
  • Money is now desperately grabbed by minor factions, and stray clans in the gravity wells.
  • Pirates will now harass more than 2 players if they feel there is loot they can steal.
  • A pirate raid at the start of the game! Make sure it ain't you matey!
  • Pirate raids are now more frequent.
  • Technology tree for the playable Pirate faction has been heavily reworked.
  • New HUD details, colors, and cosmetic backgrounds, themed to the Pirate theme.
  • New Pirate raid insults.
  • New ship details and descriptions, giving new life and background into ships in the game.
  • The player can choose the grey pirate color for their civilization race color.
  • The player has the Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion Pirate icon available for selection as the Empire Logo for their civilization.
  • The player can select 2 Pirate portraits that are given by the devs in the game and have been swapped in, two TEC portraits removed to fill in the slots.
  • Neutral ships on neutral planets are now Pirate vessels.
  • "Credits" renamed to "Gold".
  • The credit coin icon in the game is now very shiny, simulating gold for a pirate theme.
  • All abilities, technologies, and ships have adjusted names and new descriptions to reflect the new time and place in the war.
  • Some ships have new abilities and upgrades since the wars have raged on. (Since the game came out, and all the wars and conflicts, some ships have been redesigned by the respective civilization's technology and research departments to better deal with the conflicts they face).
  • Names and descriptions for abilities, ships, and technologies now feel more believable and real. Especially for ships, they have story elements behind them with additional information that make them seem more real and alive.
  • Custom Music from Pirates of the Caribbean and Rare's Sea of Thieves when playing as the new TEC Rebel Pirate faction.

In Progress:

  • Game play experimentation and balancing.
  • Reworking techs for Vasari and Advent as well as descriptions for vessels + structures to make it feel more real given the emerging Pirate threat.
  • Fixing Minor faction spawn bugs.
  • Other bug fixes.
  • Experimentation on game performance.
  • Multiplayer stability.
  • Pirate raid revisions to make them more challenging.
  • Voice lines from Hector Barbossa.
  • And much, much more!!!!

Okay, mod is abandoned !!! One mistake in mod and the author gave up ! What a pity! Although help was offered !!! :(
