SoGE is a Star Wars Total Conversion for SoaSE: Rebellion with it's roots in the Homeworld 2 mod Star Wars: Warlords which features the two primarily sides of the Galactic Civil War, the Clone Wars, and the Yuuzhan Vong War. The current public version works for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion 1.90 and, with or without, all DLC. Rated #6 players choice in MOTY 2014. An editors choice in MOTY 2015.
I figured, awhile back, when I said I'd put out those Vong fixes that I'd throw in some models too. Well, things keep moving and due to recent changes the next actual release of SoGE will be a full/stand-alone release. Due to this I'll probably get that Vong fix out soon. Until then, enjoy some new models.
most impressive
agreed
out of curiosity, will you be including the old republic and Sith empire in the next release?
I already asked that, they said no, besides how epic it would be.
No, SoGE will not be doing any of the old Republic eras.
Their lack of technology in comparison to the Clone Wars and beyond would make them impossible to balance; they don't have anything that can touch the higher end cruisers, let alone capitals and supercaps.
While I respect your descision and this is not an argument that is trying to get you to change your mind (it would add a TON of extra work for you. Ick.) But couldn't someone say that Star Wars almost perfectly fits the TV Trope "Medieval Stasis", albiet in a Science Fiction future setting?
From all the novels that I've read and the games that have come out in the Star Wars 'Verse, there isn't really a ton of evidence to point to a huge surge of technology, other than the doomsday weapon of the day or super ships like the Executioner or its New Republic equivilant (Can't remember the name right now), but wouldn't those be exceptions to the rule, in general?
Either way, the game is fantastic. Great job.
While the scale of ships hasn't changed, their armament has. The infamous Interdictor of Revan's fleet was comparable to a GCW upgraded Dreadnaught in terms of firepower, versus say a Venator or Victory SD.
Okay. Rad. Thanks for clearing that up. Would sound like a ton of work for you, in any case. Was curious though, so figured it was appropriate to bring up the question anyway.
Those structures look very promising.
But what are they of, exactly? I thought that the whole thing about the Vong was that they are biological.
Those structures look decidedly man-made to me. Too...metal, and blocky in some cases. The two domes on the ends of the structure closest to the top-right look like the little radar domes on the tops of a Star Destroyer's bridge?
And is that a shuttle of some sort near the very cnter?
Either way, your work is fantastic. Keep it up, and with no rush. Take your time.
These aren't Vong structures. They'll get threir own structures and they'll be more organic.
These are two types of Gravity well generators, 2 CIS space stations and a starbase constructor ship
Yup, they look man-made as they are man-made. If you played EaW, you'd notice the gravity well generator on the left, and had you played TIE Fighter, XvT, or XWA, you'd remember it's cargo ferry.
The two stations are the CIS' hangar defense and starbase, respectively. If you look even closer, you'd notice that the hangar defense fits right into the starbase, being a part of the latter's core structure.
