Silent Hill is a Total Conversion of the first Silent Hill for the PSX console. We thought of doing this as a sort of restyling for a so much beatiful game. The Mod will follow the path of the original game and even if we are adding some extras, we are not missing the original story of the game; expect bonuses as the possibility to play the game with the bonuses weapons that were in the original game, like the katana. We'll try to reproduce the game at the 100% meaning of at least the maps, that will be faithful to the original game.
Even if it has been a long time since I did a single thing on this project I'm not giving up, I swear it guys, just hold on, it's not gonna take as long as half-life: episode 3. I've been busy, a lot has happened to me, ups and downs, but this is my project.

Hi i just want to say i can't wait for you to finish the remake of silent hill i would like someday to play at least a demo and also i recommend to use udk or unreal engine 3 is a lot more flexible for creating levels and also alot more optimized than cryengine i wish you success in this project and i hope this year you will release a demo of this remake!

But how will you implement elements such as inventory? I never saw one mod for MP that had it.
And second, I think you should rename the mod to "Silent Hill Remake" or "Silent Hill 1 Remake". That will get a lot more attention to the mod, I think.
This project has taken too long to get to a complete remake, I'm thinking of releasing a small level (the nightmare) and then move on to another engine (unity,ue3,cryengine 3). I won't need an inventory for what I'm about to release, this is just a test for me to see how much audience I get with just a small piece of work.
You are right about the title, Silent Hill Remake would be more appropiate.
You should use Cryengine 3 or UDK. :D

It is good news! max payne is too old game, so max payne mod is not enough to remake silent hill.
I think remake should have modern graphics.

Woah, don't move it to a different engine, just keep it on the Max Payne engine. It's good enough and don't just leave the mod unfinished.
I think by his answer Neo meant that MP engine is not really enough.
It would be just incredible to use Silent Hill 3 engine, although I am afraid it does not have enought toolkit to do so.
Vampire: Bloodlines Source version I think is good too, but its buggy. There is mod called Resurgance, it ports the game to the latest source version, fixes bugs and most important, develops good tolkit. I think to wait for its release is good idea.
But cryengine, ue3? Isnt this too complicated?
