nice work, are you planning to make it it's own game?

How to use its .ipk3 with GZDoom properly? I try 'gzdoom -iwad ShrineII.ipk3' but get a GZDoom window where I have to choose ShrineII as an IWAD. If I do that, it runs fine, but how do I skip that window?

download WMD which is a wad and mod manager for gzdoom which allows you to choose loading orders for mods and wads.

Is that Windows-only? I'm on Linux. Anyway, all that a WAD manager does is executing gzdoom with right options, and the question is what they are. I prefer using bash scripts for launching Doom mods.

You don't get a little option that says "don't ask me this again" with a little tick marker?

Please stop using .RAR to archive your files. It's annoying for linux users. .7z is way better.

I'm curious, is there any difference between this version and the previous version other than it can be standalone?

I doubt that the Revision 2 update from the Itch.io/Steam releases might end up getting a standalone version any time soon here. Especially since there was a 2.0 version planned but that got canned and Shrine 3 is supposedly in the works as of early 2022 as seen from the Steam discussions page.

I think there needs to be a update in general to this since there are the issues this version contains that the revisions generally fix, but that means opting for the older version of GZDoom it runs on if you want to play the latest revision.
And if you decide to run the ipk3 from Steam in the latest GZDoom anyways like a madlad like me to keep your settings together (mostly), it has some quirks itself that get lost in the engine's later updates.
Who knows if this will change in the future- assuming the devs read this edit, but I hope this (and maybe Shrine 1) gets the update it deserves.
