Shell Shock is a Half-Life 2 Shotgun (and Crossbow!) Mod.
Shell Shock is a server-side (ONLY) modification of Half-Life 2 Deathmatch. No custom game client is required to play Shell Shock, all you do is open Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, choose a Shell Shock server, and start fragging!
Shell Shock is very much the same game as HL2DM except for the following changes:
Players spawn with a loaded shotgun, pistol, & crowbar
Shotgun power is increased (way more damage)
Shotgun reload time reduced (reloads quicker)
Shotgun firing rate increased (shoots faster)
Shotgun clip size increased (to 8 bullets, this is customizable)
Crossbow bolt speed dramatically increased (almost instant, like HL1!)
Crossbow bolt damage increased (almost insta-gib)
Frag grenades can be launched via right-click and detonate on impact
Players may spawn with any weapon combination (shotgun/melee/pistol recommended)
Respawn time reduced to 0.5 seconds so players can rejoin the fray more quickly
There are other minor adjustments but these are the ones that impact the gameplay most. What they make for is a very exciting mod where the frags come fast and hard!

Half-Life 2 Deathmatch with Skul`Shock
While we're waiting for Shell Shock to regain its status in the server-side only mods, pl4tinum and I have been working on polishing up up the Skul`Shock approach to creating more powerful weapons and more intense gameplay. We have over 100 maps on the server now with end-of-map voting, and other frills. I've been working on learning the entities in HL2DM so we can provide the best game play we can.
When you feel like it, stop by (69.28.220.181:27015) and take a look. Pl4tinum has provided space to run forums for Skul`Shock so we now have a place for some discussions and tips and tricks. Pl4tinum.com

The latest Steam update has not enabled us to fix the problems with ShellShock. Hopefully soon, though.
im playing around with this one to get it work, i choose shell shock from the menu then i choose start server but when i start the server it says gameinfo.txt missing but ive checked and it is there and ive even tried replacing it with the hl2 mp game info but it still says gameinfo.txt missing
im just wondering if the last steam update stuffed it up again
