Have you thought of adding a feature where you can visit villages that have been looted or raided?
When visiting, there would - obviously - be less villagers and (perhaps) some rebuilding houses.
Of course it would mean making destroyed models of the original buildings, and that would be tough.
Yeah it really is a pain in the *** when you have a quest in a village but can't get to it.
