SC SUM is a Mod based on StarCraft Broodwar 1.16.1 that preserves the classic StarCraft gameplay with all its original units, upgrades and abilities but enhances the tech tree by three new unique super units, corresponding new research facilities and lots of new upgrades and abilities. In detail: 3 new super units, 1 new support unit, 3 new buildings, 15 new abilities and 3 new upgrades.

Can you use energy drain on enemy spell casters?

Yup. Energy Drain can target any unit with energy. Using the skill against enemy units might be risky as the range is quite low and the Mothership is slow. You might end up in a Lockdown, EMP, Stasis Field or control group of Scourges.

I have to admit, having beam weapons in SC1 is impressive. My favorite unit is the Siege Destroyer though :D

Description

With version 1.42 the Mothership Warp will be nerfed slightly. In combination with the new beam weapon system it is too hard if Motherships can jump around the map like crazy. For this reason the Matriarch Reactor upgrade which provides doubled energy regeneration for the Mothership was removed entirely from the game. Furthermore the energy cost of the Warp will be raised from 150 to 200. Nevertheless it will still be possible to cast Energy Drain directly after Warp to refill the Mothership energy. When using own Corsairs as extended energy storage this attack pattern is still very strong as you can see in this video.

As a compensation for the removed upgrade the Mothership will receive the new ability Barrier. This skill can be described as a standalone-single-stasis-field. It can be cast anywere on the ground and blocks ground units from passing the affected area for 30 seconds. The Barrier can neither be attacked nor removed with any counter skill. The best way to utilize the Barrier is obviously by blocking narrow passages and ramps as you will see in this video as well.
