Set in the RA2 universe, Savage War makes crucial changes and adds new units to make it more fair and fun. The core fundamentals are there but certain things have been altered. Yuri finally has the squid, the Allies get a proper artillery and more country-specific options are available.

I know very little's happened with the mod recently. I honestly haven't been doing much with it. I can't cope being a one-man team trying to make a total conversion. Instead, I'm going to concentrate on making Savage War more focussed, and making modifications to the core game. If you've read the 'Complain About RA2 Here!' thread on the Savage War forums ( Forum.savagewar.co.uk ) then you'll be pleased to know that most of the mentioned changes are currently being placed into Savage War, along with some extra stuff.

Now I know that if I set a deadline I'll never make it (!) so instead the mod will be released in stages. Firstly, I'll be making modifications to the core RA2/YR stuff, then I will start adding units. Hopefully I will begin adding maps after that and other fun things like game modes or easter eggs. I'm hoping to get the first stage completed within at least a week and then slowly start adding units over the next month or so, basically being a public beta.

The way it's going, I'll hopefully be releasing a beta within a few days. It'll contain some new units but will consist mainly of changes to the basic RA2/YR units.
