This is the public beta of Rocket Crowbar 2.0, last updated in 2004, before being completely forgotten. This version of Rocket Crowbar is a client and server. This version of the game includes:

  • 4 *new* attacks for every weapon
  • Adjustable stats with a points system
  • Power-ups purchasable with stat points including: Wall hop, Jetpack, and many more
  • The ability to morph into 4 enemies from Half-Life (and a Stukabat)
  • New Maps!
  • Fast-Paced Deathmatch

Unfortunately this mod is pretty dead, but hosting your own server is tons of fun, even if you play with only 2-4 players.

On why Rocket Crowbar 2 ceased development all those years ago

"We were pretty much all in school at the time, so I suppose a long break just inadvertently turned into indefinite hiatus. There wasn't ever a decision to stop or anything so far as I'm aware.

The next big step was going to be a move to the source engine, so that basically meant everyone needed to learn all new tools and techniques on top of planning for the next release and pretty much starting from scratch on a majority of the game assets. There was a lot we wanted to do with the expanded capabilities of the new engine, so we knew we were taking on a large and very time consuming endeavor. I suppose we all just got sidetracked in the process."

Did anyone ever figure out the specific ports for Rocket Crowbar? They're different than any other Half Life Mod for sure.

you have to take points out of other attributes to spend them
