Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

Though there are obvious differences, I think you need to see the original model to truely appreciate the improvements. (Original: Moddb.com ).

The new model makes the old one look atrocious by comparison.

No idea, but it does look more mobile doesn't it?

It'll be more armored when you purchase the ERA upgrade, so perhaps then it'll be covered.

All that's just speculation at this point though.

You'll sometimes see vehicles with exposed tracks; it helps with traversing obstacles as it can use the force of the track to pull itself up and over a low wall or similar. Useful when crushing lesser foes to paste...

Will this Replace the Old Sentinel?

Yes, this is a simple model update to the existing Sentinel which will make it look better in-game. The old model will no longer be used at all.

A Nice Model. However, I don't think it's necessary to add this huge tank to Faction Russia when Overlord already exists.
Every Faction should have its own features.

The Sentinel used to be really similar to the Overlord in the original non-SWR release that came out in 2005; the new version was designed by Comr4de so as to be more diverse, and the designs of the two vehicles are now completely divergent. If you've used them in-game you should have noticed that their uses are too; the Overlord is a very powerful heavy tank that can be used in groups almost as the sole attack force, but the Sentinel is more of a mobile fortress that you build a larger force of 'lesser' units around. It's much slower, much more heavily armoured, and plays completely differently. Given the Russian love of heavy armour both in real life and in the Command and Conquer games whose style Rise of the Reds partially draws upon for inspiration, a massive heavy tank for Russia was practically a given, and in the minds of the team (and, I think you'll find, of the majority of those who play it as well) it's more than unique enough to add to a great gameplay experience.

I agree. Sentinel can nail an Overlord in 2 shots. However a group of Overlords alone can destroy the opponent army. While, a group of Sentinels (with a very high cost) is not as effective as the combination of Golems and VDVs.

OK this might be a odd question but... can we get a line of sentinels starting from Vision 1-3

(i never play the old game) so i think it would be cool to see "Russia's progreess" so to speak :P

Description

As some have already found out, the Sentinel continues to be the heavy weight champion when it comes to firepower. This tradition continues with the new mark designation of the Sentinel series. The new HT28-03 has everything the '02' model had, but attains a new slick design from its former counterpart and includes the Warden Missile system incorporated into the design due to the high demand. With additional funds and a little patience, the Sentinel continues to be the Federations #1 'if-it-must-be-destroyed' vehicle of choice.
