Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.
Full designation: Type-102 "HAN", heavy gunship
Armament: 2 x 100mm light cannon, *top secret*
Weight:
Performance: 2 x heavy lift turbine engines
As China had learned in their previous conflicts, fighting an enemy in remote and inaccessible locations was difficult using their largely conventional armoured forces. As such a design was drawn up for a well armed and armored attack helicopter which copied heavily from Russian gunships of the previous century and was designated Type-102 "HAN" by the PLA design comittee.
After some other trivial issues were solved (the rotor blades had the unfortunate tendency to snap off during turns) it was ready for service. The protracted development period paid off; troops in remote areas suddenly had the equivalent of a heavily armoured flying tank supporting them. The 100mm guns punched through the roof armour of tanks with ease, and the helicopter had enough ammunition to provide fire support over the battlefield for hours.
It's like some mutant mini-hind; what a delicious unit!
wow u got tat right looks mutant, wouldn't the blades collide in real life if it was real it would make wat i always say of wat gos up must com down literal
in real life you can sync them not to collide, like with WW1 and WW2 piston fighters they had guns that would shoot through the prop. its all in the timing
There is an actual chopper with this rotor configuration; it was American, made in the 70s in small numbers, forgot what it was called.
Even though the comment above is old for the sake of information the US Helicopter NergiZed is probably referring to is the HH-43 Huskie (HOK-1 Marine Corp Version), it has a similar rotor arrangement to this unit, the HH-43 Huskie was used in the Vietnam War for mainly fire fighting and limited search and rescue.
i like this toy its fly like dragonfly..
I remembered where I saw this heli!
From the Avalon (2001 movee)
Youtube.com
Look at that beast!
lol best explosion graphics ever
This unit is great.GJ looks like this game wont be zh anymore. Almoust all old units are replaced
you got the rotor placement from kane's wrath hammerhead, right? still looks absolutely awesome!
Wouldn't the blades hit each other :S?
i think they turn into each other like cogs...
lol, if those guns are 100mm the entire helicopter would rip apart wen they were fired
I like what I see ;).
Your avatar likes what it sees.
Jk,
Flot
Dont they put 100mm cannons on battleships and tanks? If they were on a heli it would either blast itself apart or have a huge recoil and fly back...
Kaman HH-43 uses this configuration called intermeshing rotors. not very common but pretty cool. recoiless rifles would also explain the large calibers. but i don't thinkit would be that bad as to rip it apart but the couldn't be fired automatically
Lol, nice.
Wow.... that's the first time I have heard "100mm" and "light cannon" in the same sentence.
You do realise the M1A2's barrel is 120mm?
Do you realize that the Sentinel's cannon is 220mm?
i do
Possibly means that it's simply a lightened variant of whatever their standard 100mm cannon is? Reducing weight reduces the impact of recoil (a ten-kilo object slamming backwards'd do less damage to the heli's cannon-mount than a hundred-kilo object). Anyway after all the wierd/unrealistic/silly stuff ZH has thrown at us I don't think a heli with too-large guns is gonna be out of place at all... I like it personally.
Ok... I know it is physically impossible to mount 2 100mm cannons on the a chopper (even a Spooky (Or Spectre in ZH) Gunship has problems having 1, let alone 2 120mm howitzers, and that a modified Hercules!)..but.... f****ing sweeeeeeeeet! I... -want- ... one.
its simple. just stick the guns in a c-5 galaxy. that wud make one helluva gunship
Looks like it fire/shoots 10cm bullets.
Hmm..... I'm impress of foreign idea. At least this unit is not real in this world.
The HOK-1 was a US helicopter with a smilier rotor arrangement to that, it was used in the Vietnam War for mainly for fire fighting and limited search and rescue.
Should be renamed "hummingbird", "dragon" or "dragonfly". "Han" sounds weird to some.
its because Han was the most powerfull dinasty in china
so that explain why they gave this name to this helicopter
unless one is lower than the other, it won't collide
moden China(People's Republic of China)doesnt use terms like dragon for official names for there moden vehicles. only nick names
on a other note! ^.^
dont the (US)A-10 airplane use a bigger cannon that runs from the tip of the plane to the back? (i might add i think its a gattling cannon also)so if China(People's Republic of China)is modernising all there armed fores then why not use something close to what the US used!
The gun on the A-10 is the GAU-8/A Avenger. It's a 30mm chaingun. The 100mm armour-piercing weapons on the Han are over three times the calibre and are of a conventional single-barrel autoloading design, so they're nothing alike, at all.
i mean that China use the tect for the guns
it's a twin blade...
yeah its a twin blade from red alert 3
Hmmm... this being Generals, who gives a damn how big the weapons are? i only care if they can rip a tank apart =)
love the tack-nuke thay have :D
Damit! That was supposed to be top secret!
Bye Bye Helix!!!
The Helix will still be in the game in 2.0.
Just like the Overlord in the air...
Good job, SWR team...
Whoa, you guys must have been crazy in making this,
THIS IS THE COOLEST HELI I HAVE EVER SEEN IN A MOD
(sorry about my caps i get really tired of small caps after a while...)
^,..,^
oh, and kiss your helix GOODBYE!!! mwahahahaah
"The thunderstorm begins" -from the "obsolete" helix
iyahahahahaha
No, the Helix will return as a transport aircraft.
What it is fantastic Chinese mi-24?-)
Unless at Chineses is not present now modern the helicopter The Z-10?
China has never operated the Mi-24. The WZ-10 is also a pretty boring attack helicopter which would be impossible to distinguish from things like the Comanche; the Han is far more original, looks cooler, and is vastly more fun to use.
Actually, your WZ-102 Han reminds me of Hammerhead gunship of the C&C 3 Kane's Wrath more than telling me that this is a new unit.
Besides, you guys have already created a WZ-10 like gunship "Tiger" in Shockwave mod, why don't just move it to ROTR?
This unit is nice too, although I prefer the Russian alligators.
i one thing i love about this heli is in the 1.2 vision u can hover just above Russia's big boy and not get attacked :P
this think just kicks azz. i hear u have flame cannons 4 it now
