As there has been a new version of 1.87 (2.0) I recommend you use that version to play this campaign. Using the previous version of 1.87 may work, however I cannot guarantee it.
To install 1.87, you must first become a member of SWR Productions, simply go to:
Forums.swr-productions.com
and register in order to download the latest version. Instructions on how to download 1.87 will be in the '1.87 Public Build Testing'. You don't have to be an active member, and it doesn't cost anything. Just use your membership to download if you wish.
To play this campaign, extract the mission files from the .zip file into:
Documents>Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data>Maps
Then open Rise of the Reds, go to Skirmish>Unofficial Maps, and they should be in there.

this mission is short but quite interesting apparently usa is trying to gain its former glory by supporting militias to increase its public opinion by using africa which some of them are chinas allies.i think usa will end up forced to fight its allies.anyway this mission is great(OUT)

A tad on the easy side (at least for me) but fun enough :3
To upscale the difficulty, if you want to do multiple difficulty version that is, I would mix&match; more the enemy type, also Missile Defenders are rendered useless by the ability of Delta Force Operators to use mortar barrage, which is quite effective against lightly armored vehicles and light tanks and buildings and garrisoned building.... Yes, that unit can do all.
I would replace the initial units by 2 normal Humvee containing a total of 8 rangers, forcing you to use the additional units you receive, also add a vanguard paradrop to clear the garrisons (since green berets are removed)
I tried my hand at applying those changes in the world editor, made a nod towards General Thorn, due to the Pathfinder usage (yes, they are supposedly exclusive to him), here it is: Drive.google.com
I'm not changing the difficulty of the first mission, the missions are going to progressively get harder as the campaign goes on. I don't have the time nor patience to do multiple difficulty variations (patience isn't my strong point).
I see your point about the Missile Defenders, I might remove them. The special Humvees are staying and Green Berets aren't removed, they are still in the latest version of 1.87.
It's pretty cool of you to make a variation of my mission though so thanks for that!
Mission 2 crash at mission loading for me, gonna take a look at the script to see if I spot something that could cause it.
Edit: False alert, apparently my gib files got corrupted somehow on my end, causing the game to crash (prolly a command button of a unit or interface got modified somehow and it caused crash due to your mission editing said command button)
I would put a warning that addon that enhance rotr interface may not be compatible, in case that somehow behind the reason of why I had crashed (I did use a wide ui addon before, forgot which one tho)
so my impression of mission 2:
I like the ability of choosing your approach of the gla prison encampment.
I like a positive use of the seal (they are very good at taking out building after all, not so much garrizoned ones tho)
couple bugs I had :
- Militia ranger thingy got added to my team without having entered the encampment, and thus died for nothing
- the gla observation van of the east(?) encampment (the mercenary one) didn't have stealth scanner for some reasons?
Good point, I'll make sure I'll add the warning in. I think the militia team change may have been triggered by a drone that hovers round the vehicle (battle and targeteer), if it is I'm not sure I can fix that.
The missing upgrade from the obs van is an oversight, I'll correct it in the next update, thanks for the feedback.
Ah, and also, even if you haven't activated the rocket militia team, they can still be used by the player (by making the enemy come to them), you might want to put them on idle until player make contact with them.
my impression of mission 2 is same as what le flemard said.also the only bug is the observation van(mercenary one) doesnot have stealth scanner and whats the point of the 4 militias since they go on their own and get killed easily. by the way you can do the both approaches since the command truck is easy to take it out.that what i found.anyway this mission is good(OVER)
The militia at the start going to their death is due to the presence of the gla flag. It is considered as "Important structure" so they become easy picking for the gla soldiers that comes to protect the flag.

Maybe, as I've already done a GLA campaign. I was planning Ironside's mini campaign but I'm toying with the next Russian Campaign, either as base Russia or Zhukov (Ballistics) seeing as I've already done Aleksandr's and Orlov's campaigns.
Makes sense so you can complete all Russian generals campaigns I suggest you to see rotr in Fandom so you can have more information about Zhukov I wish you the best of luck. BTW when is the next GlA Mission? (OVER)
GLA? If you mean Shockwave it's all done, if you mean ROTR...I have nothing planned for them. They fulfilled their goal by causing the Euro-Russian war (with a little help from a crazy Russian burgundy general). My next major task will be dealing with the ECA and Russian campaigns during the Euro-Russian war, if the developers don't have ideas for the official campaign that is.

And i think 5 missions for each faction isnt many, you should do more.

Just so you know, don't dictate to me how many missions to do, it comes off as rude. If that's not you intention, please be careful of your wording. I chose 5 missions per campaign as it is manageable in the free time I have. This is a hobby not a job.

Sorry I was talking about USA I already know what happened with the GLA (both Shockwave and ROTR). Also I want to know when does The truth about the GLA ROTR last mission get exposed to ECA?.But good to know that GLA ROTR is over. I wish you luck in the major task because it's necessary for Russia and ECA to be connected to each other in the Euro-Russian war. (OVER)

It was (for me) like medium to hard only if you set up a plan.

i don't think your supposed to get the miltia apc ? if you watch the video above of mission 1 , there are no militia units to use just the USA units that get flown in
