Sorta looks like the FAMAS rifle

Doesn't it? But I think that Mando weapons would be very functional, and lack that very "sci-fi" in that sense look...

Yep. Function over form...and very angular, just like their starships.

France has created some of the best weapons in the world during a decade, they also created french kissing. You gotta love a french guy :)

Most of my ancestry is French ;) Lol. The other half is German...talk about awkward. Haha.

Actually, that would describe me accurately.

I thought that it might.

In my own ancestry are the German families of Brewer, Fischbach, and Otterbach; on my French side are Petitjean and Perot, as well as some Huguenot families whose names escape me at the moment. "Practical" and "passionate" describe the traits of my family, so I could assume the same in one of similar national backgrounds.

Nice! Wonder if there is a common lineage in there somewhere? Who knows... You and I could be like...23rd cousins or something. Ha!

Well I'm pure french, but I sure as hell don't know my precise lineage. I think I had a grandmother who was chinese.

I smell mass effect here, can't think of the name of the gun off the top of my head but I definitly see the inspiration there.

I like the lights on the guns, ofcourse it's utter garbage in terms of practicallity, when you're trying to hide in the dark you wouldn't want this, but for asthetic it looks great imo.

But of course, that gun as well as the Halo gun mentioned below are all derived from the FAMAS. First post hits the nail on the head ;)

The Cerberus one is the harrier, which is similar to but not the mattock...

Many weapons look cool, but cosmetic value alone will not terminate one's foes. Since it is a Mandalorian assault rifle, I'm betting that it's destructive capability will be equally impressive.

Excellent design, the_Farseer; although I have stated it before, you truly are a master of your craft.

Thanks as always! Yes, it will be more potent than other infantry weapons...just fewer Mandos per squad to even it out. Plus fewer makes sense anyway because this is the story of their Rise, after all...not an empire already established.

Don't tell anyone...but I used the BR model from my halo mod as a base and then made heavy edits to the stock and adjusted some other features...

So, is the conventional look a ploy by the Mandalorians to make their enemies underestimate the Mandalorians?

I like the more rugged look of this compared to the Republic/Imperial weapons.

Now, I'm slightly curious - would the lights still glow if they were affected by teamcolors? (ie, if you chose green, would they glow green, or would they still glow red?)

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
the_Farseer Author

Not a ploy, just a design theory. Mandalorians are very practical people. They design something that works...not something that's pretty. Even their armor (while super badass) is functional at it's base. The "war paint" that they put on it is embellishment but the underlying design of the armor is simple and effective...not flashy or pretty.

Well... Right now they are just red but it is possible to make them team colorable. I initially chose not to do that because it's supposed to match the color of the laser it shoots (since its light from the energy source).

This looks Really good, dude! Thanks for not letting this mod die like so many have. Just on here last night looking around, and saw that like, 3 of the mods I'd hoped would come out, stopped production :(

Title is all you need to know. Lightmesh included again. More conventional looking weapons with red energy lights is the new aesthetic for Mando weapons. Good?
