Description
The B-Wing is the largest and most heavily armed fighter in the New Republic navy. Originally designed in part by Admiral Akbar, the ship is considered difficult to fly because of its extremely awkward shape. However, the unusual arrangement provides a large platform to house all kinds of weapons that are specifically geared to take down capital ships and the B-wing has proven itself to excel at that role. The strange profile doesn't lend itself well to atmospheric operations though, and so the B-wing never fully replaced older attack craft such as the Y-wing, which has been in use since the Clone Wars.

I thought that the K-Wing had more armaments?
Yes but the K-wing technically isn't a fighter either... It's more of a gunship/attacker. I mean, it seats four people and is at least twice the size of any ship that's classified as a fighter. It's like comparing a P-51 to an A-26 Invader. I understand that the Wiki calls it a starfighter/bomber though. I guess I'm just being picky.

The A-26 invader was mainly used against ground units. Hmm... A more contemporary comparison might be the A-10 warthog vs the Gr-4 Tornado. Both are used to attack similar targets (ground) but the Gr-4 is supersonic and can hold its own against fighters if need be...while the A-10 simply can't but is armed much more heavily. In our case, the A-10 represents the K-wing.

So how long did this masterpiece take to make, you're suddenly pumping these out at quite the pace. Something I'm absolutely ok with.
Thank you :) Most of the time, a basic fighter like this takes about two hours; one for modeling and one for texture.
If this thing took you 2 hours I'm calling you a golden god of modelling. I would spend atleast 4 to even 6 hours on something like this. If I could work at that speed I'd be pumping out 7 models a week. #jealous
