pretty sure I've installed it correctly, except the shortcut only launches vanilla FOC... not sure how to proceed

You must avoid having double maps like this:
.../.../.../Forces of Corruption/Mods/Rise of the Crime Lords/Rise_of_the_Crime_Lords/Data
Here are two suggestions for the mod:
1. Give Kyle Katarn the "Raven's Claw" instead of the "Moldy Crow." The Raven's Claw was Kyle's ship in the Jedi Outcast & Academy games. Everyone else uses the Moldy Crow, so be using the Raven's Claw, you make the mod even more unique.
2. Equip the Z-95 Headhunters with light mass driver cannons. The M.O. of the Black Sun is to take old ships and upgrade them, as well as to steal new ships. Refitting the Z-95's with light mass drivers would fit this style well.
No it would be weird, because pirates are not using Mass Drivers, they belong to Zann and his consortium.
Well Raven's Claw was given to him post-ROTJ era so it wouldn't be canon.
The Z-95 might go trough some changes but they are supposed to be cheap so I probably won't upgrade them too much.
Suggestions for the mod.
Give Jabba his space yacht, the Star Jewel and maybe him or another hutt hero a price reduction ability.
Replace the Munificent with a better model, like this one Moddb.com
Replace the Venator with a better model Empireatwar.gamefront.com
And maybe replace some of the ships with model that have more bones for weapons. These models from here could be used. Empireatwar.gamefront.com
I remember seeing you were trying to get a 5-tier asteroid starbase on filefront. That should be used for Black Sun, but both them and the Hutts shouldn't use the same starbase. One of these two should work, Empireatwar.gamefront.com Everythingeaw.com

Nice suggestions. I was thinking about changing the Venator and ISD with better models, this will be considered.
Munificient will also be replaced, that's for sure, btw. do you know any good Providence model?
I am also searching for alternatives for asteroid bases so I'll probably replace the Hutt cartel one.
You could use Republic at War's Providence or the one from this mod Moddb.com
It's a bit complicated, I have to get strict permission to use files from other mods and I would like to avoid having non-freerelease content in my mod.
You wouldn't have to ask permission for RaW's models, in the readme it says to just copy the credits for models and make sure it's correct. They did that so Z or anyone else working on the mod wouldn't have hundreds of people asking to use their stuff.
Other than those models, I don't know of a Providence model that doesn't require someone to ask for it. Those are the only ones.
