How did you get a standalone hl2.exe? Does it work without Portal installed? Just curious.
This version on ModDB does not include hl2.exe and requires Portal to be installed. The version on Steam includes all necessary files for a standalone game, but it requires you to play from an account which owns Portal.
I just found this mod, and I am enjoying it very much.
Can anyone tell me whether all the puzzles require logic only to solve, or do some of them require "tricks" in technique like portal peeking, cube flinging, etc.?
There are no chambers which require any tricks. Sometimes you have to be fast, but that's all.
I tried your mod and it seems to work but there is just one problem there is no voice sound i tried reistalling it but it doesnt work.

It's not a virus, it's a program that lets the steam version launch the steam overlay. The long explanation is here: Steamcommunity.com
The program itself is from here: Code.google.com
If you don't believe me, you can always use the latest version from ModDB which does not include that exe.

Loved this mod. I have no idea if the developer of this mod will read this but it was very clever. Loved the new puzzle mechanics and the custom aesthetics. 10/10 there is one thing I'd love to see, a sequel of this in the portal 2 engine?
