Bolero is our haven at sea. She's our floating fortress among the ice, and I will see her interests defended.

Post news Report RSS Quick Update #1 - Just Checking In

Just a quick update today, mostly to touch base and dispel any feeling people may be having about whether there has been any progress. I can confirm there has, but nothing I can show yet, quality comes with time. A cluster of unfinished screenshots of functioning maps is nothing compared to a single well-crafted and complete scene. Rest assured there is heat in the pipes and there are some very cool things I want to share with everyone over the coming weeks and months.

So please don’t feel any sense of alarm or concern, progress is being made, just slowly. Reversion is still very much is active development, a fact I’m sure my Steam friends list can attest to having been putting up “Blah Blah is playing Source SDK 2013” over and over.

I also just wanted to take the chance to share a video I came across today while on one of my frequent sci-fi binges. State Zero is a short sci-fi film by Andrées Wallin, some of you may already have seen it but for those who haven’t but are interested in Reversion, the world laid out in State Zero coincidentally has some similar aesthetic themes and stylistic goals I am aiming for with the mod. Their vision of an overgrown Stockholme is one that interests me greatly, also the dropship is immense. I was actually taken aback by some of the things that the film pulled off that I have been looking into as content for the mod, for instance, I discovered the video while looking for videos and concept art pieces for dropships, and was understandably surprised to suddenly see a fully realised scene of an overgrown and “abandoned” city. I know I am going to make a conscious effort to chance some of the concepts I have been working on in order to avoid looking like I am merely emulating another work. Keeping the dropships though.

Anyway, I’ll see everyone soon with some exciting new content for the modification.
