Revamp Expansion Mod (RVE) A Supreme Commander 2 Complete Overhaul / Total Conversion Mod
Okey people, today after some nice games with the Cybran (in Revamp) I realised that one of the most interesting part of the Cybrans, is their naval units ability to walk on land !!!!
Thus an Idea came to my mind, for a ground close ranged heavy hitter, but with the ability to travel at sea, in a "ship" form, with less weaponry but still versatile...
Here we go:
Sea form - 2 turrets with both AA and Ground capabilities, 24 swarm ballistic missile tubes....
Land form - 2 close ranged heavy blasters (or flamethrowers I don't know yet ;) ) located inside the mouth, 2 turrets with both AA and Ground capabilities, 24 swarm ballistic missile tubes....
The model is still a WIP, IT IS NOT FINISHED, so what do you think ?
ummm i believe u can do better models than this, NOT that this model is not good!!! i mean ur other models are way to awesome! and this one cant match them.
maybe giving him more detail and parts?
but a great idea i love the idea of it, name better be godzila xD
Read the description.... -->
Thanks Railgunner2160.... ;)
Ahrimansiah, as you can read in the description (I HAVE EVEN WROTE IT WITH CAPS LOCK ON) IT IS A WIP !!!! the model you're seeing is not even at 40%....it is just the base idea... I wanted feedback on the idea itself ! of course it will have more details, and of course it will be better when finished ;)
lol i cant believe i did read all of it except the ending part xDDDD
sorry in that case then the idea is great
though it will be cool if he can walk on two legs when he reach land!
GODZILLLAAAAAAAAAA :D
and having alot of missile silos on his body will be cool too for launching a missile barrage from all his back
Personally I love the idea, but the name doesn't make much sense. I suggest naming it something else like Scylla or Charybdis. Naming a naval unit after a firebird doesn't really work in the logic department.
The name "Dreadnought" has actually been officially given to a naval ship in history, En.wikipedia.org . So, I think the name is ok in that regard.
However, within the gaming industry, when I hear Dreadnought, this is what I think of: 3.bp.blogspot.com
he was referring to the name of the unit "Phoenix"
You've misunderstood. I was referring to Phoenix, not Dreadnought.
True...the "phoenix" name came through the idea that it would probably spit fire...but true...a name like Scylla or Charybdis (since I am a Greek, I love it when you mention these names ;) ) would do better on this one ;)
Also the Godzilla name fits as well :D
Guys! It seems to me that the more appropriate style of Cybran ships from the movie BATTLESHIP.
Ghull.com
wat dis guy says. anyone whos seen battleship, you know those ships would fit perfectly in the cybran nation. just an idea for a name, what about Loch Ness?
I haven't seen it yet, but I will for sure...
I'm looking at the concepts now....I'll definitely pull something from them....!
the movie was good. neededto bew longer. other than that it was pretty good.
hm i think it would be nice if it had a few more guns on the sea version other than that it will be a nice addition
Sea Dragon! ...Actually save that name for a battleship or something
All the back part are missile silos :P
Replying to "ahrimansiah"
oh well it more like all his tail, by back i mean back of his body too
Would it be possible to have a submersible unit crawl on land? I always wanted something like the Kraken to be able to get on land. And since we're on the topic of names I have a few up my sleeves, I happen to have a thing for mythology. If there was a Kraken like unit on the land you could call it the Hydra or something similar. And if you make another Mega XP unit you could call it Typhon/Typhoeus since he was like the biggest monster of them all in Greek Mythology.
i know cybrans are the insectoid/animal robotic types, but please... not a bot which needs to open up a mouth to fire the maingun ... thats just stupid and no designer would think of that, not even in the far future i think ... even if the mouth is heavy armoured to secure the heavy gun inside ...
and how about a swarmmissile turret ?, always "tactical" swarm missiles gets boring over time ... we get gun turrets and missiles silos but no missile turrets and such... i would like that if we get some turreted missiles(or swarmers) :D
I agree, there need to be direct fire missiles. Tactical high arcing missiles are fine and all, but I liked how the hoplite from FA shot, a little direct fire burst.
I was in the process of collecting several designs of mechs or similar vehicles that have mouth weaponry...but then I realized I don't have to...
And calling a design "stupid" to its designer is not just stupid, it is simply pointless... enough said about your comment...
zoids had a few that opened their mouths to fire.
the fire demon from nausicaa is the coolest mouth-fired weapon ive ever witnessed.
the tri barreled cannons on the flying ditchman were cool too, mainly because two mouths opened.
speaking of nausicaa, check out the ohms. they have a really cybran feel.
I did check the "Ohms", the only role I can fit for them would be something similar to the Protoss Reaver (Starcraft)...but not sure, if it fits or what... right now, I'm working on the Dreadnought...
bout that.
The mouth I believe could be a bit....thinner and a little closed, its too bulky. Either make the neck more armoured or the mouth thinner. But other than that great! Also would suggest some decals or spikes on the back plates. Seem sorta.....blank. But nice idea, would love the water to land assaults soon to commence. :D
reminds me of a metal gear from MGS series!
I always loves the cybran navel units that could walk on land, it was such a badass feature to have a real "land battleship" XD
As per this idea, I approve good sir!
