From being a simple idea of moving fullscreen videos from the SourceNext game into vanilla version, the project has gradually got to the stage of a considerable visual and technical overhaul in order to enhance many of the game aspects. It is worth mentioning, that only original HQ resources, created by Capcom itself, were used to achieve the current result. This project has not much to do with mods, it is rather a restoration of in-game features in their original graphic, sound, video quality and more...

Hi. Just checked this. I redownload this patch from here, extracted it without any errors and successfully install on the game. Probably something wrong with your downloading process. Try to use some download manager for this, like Downthemall extension for Firefox or Free Download Manager for more stable and safe downloading: Freedownloadmanager.org If there will be no success I'll upload some mirror links.

Game crashes either on startup or early on.

So I installed RE3 normally (first through a torrent, then off my personal CD from back in the day just to check) to a custom folder (My Documnets\PC Games\Resident Evil 3).

Then I immediately (without running the game) downloaded your patch, extracted the files to my desktop, ran the patch, installed directly into the RE3 install folder, then ran the game.

No idea WTF is going on. My Specs should be more than enough to run this (GTX 960). Only hitch might be I'm running Windows 8?

Did you manage to solve your problem? If not, try to do next actions:

1. Never install your game in Program Files or My Documents folder, these folders is protected by the system and don't have a full access.

2. Completely uninstall your game now.

3. Install your game for example in C:\Games\

4. Install our Project upon of it

5. Set in exe or shortcut compatibility properties "launch from admin"

Report directly to me via PM or here if is there anything wrong with it and I try to help you.

Besides, most of this information described in project Readme, except veto on installation to My Documents folder, cause I never imagine that people could install games in this folder...

Which OS you're using? Are you sure that you have admin rights? Anyway, try to turn of UAC protection in your system, then search on your drive C file with name bio3.ini, if you'll find it in a directory with name Virtual Store then delete it, but do not delete it in your installation folder. After that try to launch game with admin rights.

Hi Guys, I'm new here. I'm a big fan of Resident evil and I really appreciate the work you guys did with RE3. I tried to follow the suggestions you gave to some of the gamers about how to update the game but somehow I failed. For some reason it crashes right after I chose the costume. Now I like games etc but I'm not a very good about installing them, I usually follow like a guide on youtube. I did download a full version Of RE3 and I downloaded this version too but i don't know how to combine them together. Can you send me like a 1-2-3 step guide of how to do it ? I would love it, cause this version looks awesome. Thank you :)
Ps:(sorry for my English, I'm from Italy)

Setup.

1. Install Resident Evil 3 from your game CD, using the "full installation" option.
(Note: if you're using UAC protection on your system, it's not recommended to install the game in Program Files folder, otherwise, make sure that game is installed in it's default path (...CAPCOM\ResidentEvil3).

2. Run the patch and follow the setup instructions.

3. Press the "Browse" button to locate the setup directory of the game.

4. Wait for the setup to finish and run your game.

Yes, but it will work like USA version and you lose japan language. But if you want to keep it and you ask about it from the name of Japan auditory, well... I can understand that some features of our project like HQ voiceover, Lossless music with correct playback and restored game graphics in near future (I hope) may be desirable for Japan community in SourceNext edition. I think it's possible to integrate all this features into SN version. But I can start this work only if I'll see that Japan auditory really want it and if they will be actively support our project.

And I don't see other reasons to transfer our progress on SN release except language. SN version has no more advantage in compare with our project, except one, it's vibration support for DX pads, but I hope we will recreate vibration function in final version.
I know, there's a myth that Japan version is more quick for speedruners or something, it's true, but only because Japan language is "shorter" and scrolls faster, that's all the story. By the way, it's impossible to translate Japan SN version to english and use it as base for our project, if you mean that too.

It works straight out of pack on win10 no issues widescreen or fullscreen.
Nicely done.

I am still curious can and will be something done about character textures?

P.S
You are the same person that did High Res textures for RE3 in Dolphin few years back? Well done! Its shame u never finished it tho. There is new developer working separate on his own project of Dolphin, he most definitely could fix that 8bit dumping on it if its still an issue. Ishiiruka project , dev is Tino. His Ish build is something i consider primary as it is done amazingly.

Hi. Thanks, I'm glad you like it. Regarding to character textures, I think it has not much sense without solving polygon jerking problem. I know couple hackers who may try to fix that, but it will be extremely difficult and it takes a lot of money to pay for their work, have no idea where to get them))

No, I'm not related with GC HD texture project. But couple years ago I write to that thread. In that time I still have couple illusions about GC version, probably such as you have, but now they've gone. The problem with countless 8 bit mask textures generation not associated with Dolphin, it's the problem of the game itself. GC version of RE2 also have the same 8 bit mask textures, but it has no such bug. By the way, the same problem exist in PC version and we solve it, but it's almost impossible for GC. Besides, the Dolphin developers are very closed people, I've tried to contact with Ishiiruka, but no success.

In the time I've been mostly disappointed in GC version, to be honestly, it has only one advantage with not-jerking polygons - everything else now is much better on PC, and I hope we will lead this job to the end.

Hi, first thanks for the mod and the concern with issues, it is appreciated.

My issue is the game runs in window mode fine but as soon as i try to put it into full screen it crashes.

If i press F8 i get a stopped working error.

If i right click the window and go into settings and turn on boarderless fullscreen it flashes on and off and just closes the game.

I'm using windows 10 and have tried disabling visual themes.

I have uninstalled from program files and rte installed in a custom directory not in program files.

Yes, the USA version have the crash issue after couple switching between Fullscreen and Window mode. To make sure that it's nothing to do with mod, check that on a "clean" game.

I'm planing to solve this bug in final version. Maybe you also need to use XP or other compatibility mode. But first of all try this:

1. Open settings menu by pressing F2 right after game starts
and choose last video adapter in a list, it's a special fullscreen video adapter mode, so you'll see that window mode option is fade out after you select it, like it show on the screen: Img-fotki.yandex.ru

If it won't work for you, try to use R3Setup.exe in a game directory and repeat the same thing.

It means that your OS have some terrible account rights restrictions and that's why you cant install the Video Codec. On my Win7x64 everything works just fine as on any OS with normal rights. Anyway try to install it from the name of admin, if it not works, like a last chance, extract content of VideoCodec folder in any place and then launch from admin huffyuv x32\x64.bat depending from your OS, if it can't help turn of UAC, and try again.

If all this brings no success, then download this FMV Pack: Yadi.sk, extract it with replace to installation directory. This pack encoded with default game codec and will work for 100%.

We refuse from default codec since it causes big delays when video start playing. Usually delays length is 1-2 seconds, but sometimes it is 3-4 secs which is unacceptable for me, but looks like it's absolutely fine for Capcom. The alternative codec has practically no delays at all, but we'll turn back to default codec in a final version and try to fix it, cause users like you suffers from alternative, it's probably 0,1 percent from all users, but I think that no one should suffer from improvements otherwise it's not improvements at all.

Hello and thank you for keeping the work on this great patch for RE3.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to use it so far (version 0.8), nothing seems to work. The original game, fully installed from the CD, works all fine, but as soon as your patch is installed over it, after the Capcom logo... nothing. Black screen. Then I must end the task.

I have tried different install folders outside of Program Files. I have tried some compatibility options, install and run as admin... Same, always. There is no Disable Themes option in Win10, by the way. My Win10 x64 is the latest CE and nothing is wrong with it, otherwise.

However, I have just tried the default codec FMV pack from the above post. Now the game opens properly and everything seems right. So, I may be in that 0,1% although I can't see why. The files are also smaller than with the new codec so I don't know whether it means anything, quality-wise.

Hi, I'm having a little bit of trouble to make the mod work.

Right, so I'll describe the steps I'm doing. I've installed the game (Sourcenext Biohazard 3) in a random folder in my desktop, after mounting the CD setup. And then I've ran the mod setup, and installed it in the same folder as the game.

So now I have two executable games; which one should I open? Sourcenext's or the mod's?

Sorry if I was a bit confuse. I'll kindly provide more details if needed.

I'm really not certain how to apply this patch - the download comes with a setup.exe file. Is that supposed to go in my main game folder?
