Republic at War is a total conversion modification for Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption. The mod replaces the Empire with the Galactic Republic and the Rebel Alliance with the Confederacy. Republic at War focuses heavily on the theatrical films but also contains content from the Clone Wars cartoon series as well as the expanded universe. Players can re-enact various Clone War campaigns such as the Outer Rim Sieges. Players will have the choice to fight as either the CIS or the Republic and wage war for control of the galaxy. Realism is key and players will have unprecedented control over how and where they fight. Push forward with an entire clone legion such as the 501st or 212th or overwhelm your opponent with a seemingly endless number of B1 battledroids. The choice is yours. There are also a number of expansions planned that will add new (as well as polish existing) content.

A Republic at War news update for the month of January, 2013.

Current Project Status
Over the past month, we have been focusing on bug related issues. The majority of these had not actually made it onto the public bug list so the changes won't be reflected on that page. We still have a good bit left to include into the final build though. Once we've integrated the remaining (to be completed) content, we'll be on the home stretch and will begin pepping for the beta.

Steam & Disc Compatibility Resolution
This is definitely one of the bigger announcements that we've made and it's not even directly tied to the mod its self.

We've been able to (finally) isolate the cause of the version mismatch issues between Steam and disc (both EAW+FOC & Gold Pack) users. The original plan was to release an application that will allow users to sync their games. We instead decided to send this information directly to Petroglyph.

Although nothing has been set in stone, Petroglyph is currently looking into developing an official game patch to deal with this once and for all.

We'll announce additional details, as we have them.

Lucasarts is not an amazing company.

If they were, we'd all be playing Battlefront 3.

Petroglyph is though.

i agree with flyingdonuts, Lucasarts was good, 'till they decided to cancel BF 3 on 99% and make SW 1313

A very good achievement on your side. They could pay you the Greenlight fee in my opinion!

Congratulations! I hope Petroglyph are able to persuade LucasArts into patching the issue and it gets sorted quickly.

Just out of curiosity, what is the cause of the version mismatch? I did wonder if the version number in the Windows Registry had anything to do with it (because it seems that FoC on Steam has the pre-1.01 version number).

It's really much less complicated than that.

The short of it is that the Steam version only contains 1 of 2 .XMLs that are included with the August 2011 update. Either remove GRAPHICDETAILS.XML from the disc user's root XML folder OR add it to the Steam users's root XML folder.

I've developed a small application that will quickly and completely sync the two games but I wanted to wait until Petro had some time to look at the problem, before jumping the gun.

I have the disc version and when I tried to pull the GRAPHICDETAILS.XML out the game crashed. So I told my friend with the Steam edition to put a copy of it into his XML folder and we still couldn't join each others games.

Hopefully petroglyph can also fix the way how steam interprets FOC to be a separate game and not a dlc

So we may still have a 4-6 month wait to even begin discussing a release date (sighs) a little bit of a downer seeing as I wanted to try out the mod on my new alienware that's on it's way but hey, In guess I can bide my time on Thrawn's revenge and Z's addon 3.5 (great job by the way one of my favorite mods) BUT my hard, grey, Imperial heart will always lie in RAW's camp een though I send a shout out to the YVAW and Thrawns revenge teams great job guy's you keep this game from dieing off. (BTW I'm not sure if I spelled "dieing" wrong so feel free to correct)

Hey, I am sort of new to modding Star Wars Empire at War, etc etc. I have installed the mod, haven't played it a whole lot yet because I am still reading more. I had a confusion with these update posts. Are they updates that are ready to be installed or are they just future updates/bugfixes for the 1.2 release only? Not really sure and any feedback would be appreciated. : ) Thanks!

P.S. This is looking like a really great mod! Thanks to the creators!

Actually, the Ram fix that Lucasarts rolled out fixes the problem. They never mentioned anything about it, but I confirmed it today. At least, it worked for me. I read somewhere in a forum thread on Petroglyph's forums that it supposedly fixed the problem, but no one on that thread was able to confirm it as they didn't know anyone they could test it with. I confirmed myself today, no mods and me playing retail gold and my friend on Steam, we were able to join each other's hosts.
