Republic at War is a total conversion modification for Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption. The mod replaces the Empire with the Galactic Republic and the Rebel Alliance with the Confederacy. Republic at War focuses heavily on the theatrical films but also contains content from the Clone Wars cartoon series as well as the expanded universe. Players can re-enact various Clone War campaigns such as the Outer Rim Sieges. Players will have the choice to fight as either the CIS or the Republic and wage war for control of the galaxy. Realism is key and players will have unprecedented control over how and where they fight. Push forward with an entire clone legion such as the 501st or 212th or overwhelm your opponent with a seemingly endless number of B1 battledroids. The choice is yours. There are also a number of expansions planned that will add new (as well as polish existing) content.

probably not, the CIS used b1's alongside b2's, u never really saw only SBD's by themselves. on rare occassions maybe. cuz b1's are the sheer numbers, they dont have nearly as many b2s as b1s

I read some source...I think it was the Star Wars Wiki that said during the war alone over 4 Quintillion B1 droids were produced in all variants. If you figure that of a minimum 5 variants, the majority are combat roles....you get a troop total expressible as at least 4,000,000,000,000,000.... Sheer numbers is a definite answer.

But I guess their joints are magnetically locked, hence why they fall apart so easily. But they're obvious really quick and easy to build. So what? You lose a Company-size force in an hour? You've already got a Division ready to replace it. :P

Z, the hailfire droids rockets won't be to powerful against infantry will they? In some other mods they do WAY too much damage, usually wiping out infantry in 1 or 2 hits.

Realistically, a missle is more powerful then a single blaster, you have to think about splash damage too.

No, I mean, have you played "The Clone Wars" mod for example, or "Return of the Clones"? In those two, the rockets from hailfire droids can wipe out hundreds of clones in one or two hits. Now I don't care if they could do that in Star Wars canon, THIS IS A GAME. There's nothing worse then anti-vehicle weapons taking out infantry so quickly and effectively, it's overpowered if so. I'm not saying that this how they are in this mod, because I don't know, I'm saying that they shouldn't.

in those mods they were classed as anyi-infantry vehicles

No I'm pretty sure they weren't. Even if they were, having the capability to wipe out hundreds of infantry from long range in a few hits, as well as being able to similarly destroy vehicles whilst having high speeds is kinda' absurd for a RTS game such as EAW/FOC where infantry is already pretty much useless and a waste of money/pop cap points. If so then this should be tasked to artillery, not fast moving anti-vehicle machines.

Once again I'm not saying that this is how it is in this mod, I'm just asking, that's all.

Despite this, in canon, they could pretty easily kill troops. Z based this mod off of canon, so you can expect these to have a good bit of power. I'm not going to speak for Z, but I would expect these to have good speed and decent power like in the movies, and I would also expect Z to have made a way to counter these. He's good at that.
