Description
The old Ion cannon model is being replaced with the one pictured. The cannon retracts into the base when not in use.
This is still and early version of the model, a more polished version will follow soon.
This is a fairly early draft of the model, but I wanted every one to know that there has been progress and the mod is still moving toward a second release.
Looks like Tau A'rka cannon from WH40k DoW :)
I love DoW, but I'm not sure which weapon that is. I know they didn't have any any base defenses or artillery in DoW, was the A'rka a hand carried weapon?
I played 2nd edition table top for years, loved it, but Tau came after my time. I played Chaos, Eldar, Space Marines, Imp. Guard, and Orks. Eventually I had to give it up because I didn't have time, I've still got over a thousand miniatures, included 5 armor-cast/forge-world titans, but they're packed up in boxes. Now all my hobbies have to fit in a Hard Drive so I can keep them safe from my kids.
The Ar'ka was a one-of-a-kind structure the Tau had in their stronghold in Soulstorm. It was a souped-up ion cannon that bombarded other provinces in the campaign metamap.
ahh, that makes sense for why I never saw it.
Ah, I haven't got opportunity to get those miniatures in my country :(

Cool but can you make barrel little longer?
It won't fit in the base if it's longer. I experimented with an extending barrel that grows once deployed, but it didn't look right.

is there a visual change when the 'Ion Cannon Overcharge' is active?
I added it last night. The entire base section has been remodeled with a lot more detail, including additional power cores that raise up before firing an Overcharge shot.
I like this model, cool :)
I can not wait for next version.
