Prepare to be thrown back in to the not-so empty corridors of the Von Braun, where she awaits your arrival...

Remember Citadel is a faithful reboot of the hit video-game System Shock 2 in the Source Engine. Our Goal here is to recreate the atmosphere and level design of the Von Braun and completely enhance it. We are shooting to make it the nasty monster-ridden ship it was always meant to be with as much detail as possible.
You expect this to be the game you knew and feared?
Be prepared to change your pants one last time.

Currently we need some help:
Our team isn't exactly large (3 people to be exact) and we aren't professionals in our line of work, so we need a bit of help if you want to see this come to life. Things we need a bit of help on are textures, and level design. Things we REALLY need help on are modeling, sound design, and programming, so PLEASE help!

Requirements:
It's very unsure at this point what exactly will be needed, but I can say for a fact that it will require Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer. It may also require the need for System Shock 2 on Steam (sorry GoG users) down the road, in order to prevent some kind of infringement, whether the end product is similar or not.

*Disclaimer*
This project is being done for free as a personal and noncommercial project for the current System Shock 2™ community and is intended not to replace, but enhance the video game. It is ensured that no assets or code from the original game are used in the making of said project. If there is any infringement detected by Star Insurance or Electronic Arts, please inform me at whydevteam@hotmail.com and the problem will be taken care of or the project will be removed completely.

Hello System Shock 2 and Half-Life 2 mod enthusiasts!

Remember Citadel has returned for one last go at recreating the terror that is System Shock 2.
With this though, comes compromise, though at little costs.
In order to avoid copyright we have to change the story a little bit, but we will make sure it fits in nicely with it's own little canon and background.

The premise of the story is a retelling of the original story through a different source, thus creating a few inconsistencies along the way. We aren't telling who or what, but rest assured it will all work out in the long haul.

I have received a Mapper who is helping me figure out this whole mess, and, he's mapping.
We hope to get some pictures up by the end of the month or next month to the latest of MedSci 1 and 2.
They will have nothing to do with Mark Valentine's version of the mod at all and will be a complete recreation with all of it's own bells and whistles.

As always, if you are skilled in Mapping, Coding, Texturing, Sound, Voice Acting, or Modeling; any help or donated works would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I also have a buddy very skilled with webpage modifying, so we should be getting a new and interesting page sometime soon.

Thanks for reading!

Nice work but... IMHO: SS2 doesn`t really need a remake as much as the original does. You can make system shock 2 look really good with mods and the New Dark engine works fine. All that "panting and sweating" in a HD Citadel Station on the other hand, would have been much more interesting ;)

I jumped the gun a bit and i'm not entirely sure if we'll be able to do this specifically because of EA and Star Insurance.

Not because it's a remake of system shock 2, but because it's similar.
I'm going to keep going along and try to make it distinctive from the original.

Hopefully that will prevent some kind of mishap.

Keep in mind this stuff is all old and i'm remaking MedSci right now.

I do feel that while the graphics could be improved from the original, the gameplay should remain the same. I am looking forward to playing this once it's finished.

Are there any HQ texture mods that could be borrowed from? Or maybe you already did! I haven't played SS2 in at least a year or longer, so I've forgotten how detailed things are.

There might be some trouble with that though. It would be hard to find out the damage values, resistances, etc. of all the enemies considering there's no source code for SS2.

Anyway, as an update for everyone, i'm TRYING to convert the mod to Source SDK 2013, as A.S. SDK doesn't have working ladders or much of anything really. Not going too well so far. If anyone has some ideas I would love to hear.

But the source code for the dreamcast version was released.

I don't know that I have the expertise to port source code.

I was saying that I would need the Source code to see what the exact damage values were and all that jive.

Another update too:
Nothing has changed, still figuring it out.
Might have to start over and make the entire map again.
Yikes.

Although of course... actually that's an option now.
I can copy the values over, and while that will take awhile, it's better than a complete remake.
