The 1st Delaware Regiment, AKA Haslet's Delawares, was one of the first to be formed and grew to be one of the largest in the early stages of the war.
At the battle of Camden,as a part of contingent of Continental regulars, men of the 1st Delaware courageously stood their ground, suffering heavy casualties.
The typical light infantry cap as portrayed here was issued to all companies until replaced with a more common tricorne, laced yellow for rank and file.
