A fan for Real life Military equipment ? then this is your mod ! it is a Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge mod that basically imports a lot of RL military hardware from the cold war era in the 60's to the late 2000's while maintaining a lot RA2 aspects like prism, tesla tech and etc. Also, It expands on the original RA2 armor system thanks to ARES in which it creates more roles to create numerous units effectively expanding the complexity of handling an army making it necessary to use mixed arms to counter the various unit types. Also, do note that each country will have some twists in their military equipment that will be more or less similar to their respective RL counterparts. In short: it is a relative to reality fun mod but "a fun mod" is conservative statement.
People meet the soviet ARI or Assault Regular Infantry. The ARI is on par with the AGI variant trained to keep up with vehicular units in mind. Unlike conscripts, Regular infantry are rigorously trained for combat.
They are armed with AKM's providing them with more stopping power and range than the standard conscript's PPSH-41 submachine gun. Both them and conscripts deploy the same garrison weapon making conscripts a viable option for defensive roles.
Lastly, like the AGI, they will have a more powerful IFV modular turret weapon to amplifying their role as an assault infantry. Moreover, in open topped vehicles like Seafrogs (BRDM-1's) and Battlefortress's they are authorized to employ PKM LMG's to boost their firepower.
You are putting great effort, can't wait for the release!
And what are the two infantry on the left bottom corner?
VDV sniper and Commissar.
Yeah I remember I asked you to add infantry like these, also spetsnaz, delta force, SAS and egyption صاعقة would be good too.
VDV and Spetznaz ? that is overkill :P
Well I will try to find something for both. Possibly, Spetsnaz will be the ground SOF and VDV will be the airborne SOF that is only available via airdrop.
The other countries will receive the same treatment per their DLC release, SOF setups will partially depend on their RL counterpart.
Haha yeah I know it's too much! But since the VDV are airborne, you could make them only available as a paradrop reinforcement, and make the spetsnaz trainable from the barracks as they will be the main ground special forces.
Is the release any soon? Cqn't wait
Problem is, that I cannot find Spetsnaz infantry, yet. So it is going to be the VDV as SOF that is trainable from the barracks for the soviet bloc. For now at least.
Well if you couldn't find it, you have already done many cool and realistic things keep up! And are you gonna release it any soon?
