An expansion/overhaul mod of epic proportions, with entirely rebalanced gameplay, expanded factions, new gametypes, graphical overhauls, and five new factions; stealth-based Confederate Revolutionaries, tower defense-inspired Atomic Kingdom of China, economy-focused Mediterranean Syndicate, DotA-esque Order of the Talon and spammy Electrical Protectorate.

I think I see a sleeping Masamune on the right and one that just slipped on the left, as well as an awesome gated base.

Albeit I'm not sure if the arch is wood or just looks like it- since wood from nano construction seems a bit odd.

We can make a lot of wood looking surfaces without wood today so, I would bet on that.

You have to open and close the gates manually, so since it's closed, the path-finding considers it a wall.

The Torii(鳥居) Gate is very appropriate, but I would like to see some technology blended with this traditional look as well. The Torii Gate is a little overused by people wanting to represent the Japanese...

will the gate be build as a core or as a wall?

It'd be hard to do as a core, so probably in a similar fashion to the wall.

The gate is amazing, altough I still think that the wooden top is a bit out of place (the texture, the model's great) but I like it either way.

but the masamune steal the show here.

I love the idea and the justification for this game. However, I'm going to agree that it's a bit out of place for two reasons:

1) inconsistency in materials. I think this is just something that needs to grow on me. I understand why you did this, but I would love to see a Nano-tech/traditional styles blend a bit more.
2) just too massive/thick; causes everything to shrink around it. It doesn't lend well to the sense of scale in the game. It looks to have the same proportions as the traditional gate, which is much much smaller. IMO, if you only slightly reduce the girth of the beams and only extend it up higher and make it wider; it should cause the whole gate to sort of blend back into the sense of scale that RA3 offers.

You have 25 foot + tall mecha, what are you going to be a mean shogun and make them duck their heads?

Skinny looking torii are even worse; my first attempt was much thinner, and it ended up feeling very fragile, and not looking very much like a torii at all. I will look into making the red portion of the gate more technological-looking.

it looks good for a in game Torii except if you have looked at pictures or seen one up close the wedges i believe they are called kusabi i am not sure but they are not straight they are usually in a descending or ascending fashion depending on how you see and most of the time more of a ornamental and also a type support. i am not sure if it would looked good or stand out more but maybe add a Shimenawa on the Torii. and if you do a water gate with a Torii i would say make the Torii look more like the Itsukushima Shrine's Torii.

Hmm didnt really like this one as good as others, for one the red *arch* looks like it could be an entrance to a restaurant or building..
I also think it should be wider, put a third block in there and it would be abit more intimidating (if you can) to put the steel ronin's chest face on it, that thing looks mean! ---> Gamesfact.de

Description

The traditional gate to a shinto shrine, a torii, symbolizes the divide between the profane of the outside world, and the sacred of the shrine. In a similar fashion, the Imperial gate divides the world between the safety of the base and the hostility of the battlefield beyond.

Of course, the Buster Turrets help too.
