Well, the animated antenna is already there (from what you've said I'm not sure if you know that this is an ingame shot). The true is that I was also thinking about the modular sensor slot, but I've decided to keep it this way, at least for now.
Maybe I'll make the sensor slot out of it later, but I'm still not sure that it's a good idea. The ship don't necessary need it and presence of the modular sensor would also mean, that the sensor can be destroyed.
But we can discuss about this, if to make it destroyable or not.

Good news is that I've decided to make another version when this Battlecruiser will be ready, so you won't have to wait to see it together with a Vaygr Supercarrier and so on, but you'll get it sooner.

1. Starfleet spacedock doors
2. (possible only) unfolding of drydock (like a probe, only bigger)

PM you? PM me, you should be the active one. Anyway I'm far very from being Homeworld animator pro, not only that I had help (a guy named Djodar, you may know him), but this is just a simple one axis movement, with reused coding from another ship (command corvette to be exact -it unfold the antenna when launched as well).
I can do the animation basics, but that's it.

Damn, that looks very nice Pouk.
I really like the implementation of the two BC stripe-box areas,
you've put them pretty much where I was thinking they would go,
and the sensor animation; animations rock so this is very cool.

You've made me imagine how it would look if the sensor was folded under the nose, recessed into a socket in the underside, and folded out 180deg like a Swiss army knife blade.

Stripe-boxes can't be missing there, it would be a big mistake to miss them. The rear one can be moved a bit, but there are no many other spots where they can be placed.

It would look a little like a catfish, an odd and interresting idea, not that bad though, but this is how it will be.

Your definitely on the right track with this mod.. its good to see your making your own ships rather than using ones that are already out there. It also fits in with the general design of vagr ships, which is awesome :)

And I was always going to make my own ships, I just forced myself to do the Vaygr frigates first, because they are all based on one chassis (making my own frigates wouldn't make much sense), so the less interesting part is now over and I can finally concentrate on the ships that are new and mostly made from scratch. And I really like to design and create the new ships, it's a best part of making the mod, so you'll see more of it now.

come up with new design or with new ship? To be honest I've got around 55 pages in my REARM dedicated sketchbook filled with ships already, so right now I'm mostly just picking the concepts I like and making them. I still draw the new ships, if I have a new idea or you guys suggest something new. And I have to say it's three times harder to design something for Hiigarans than for Vaygr, I'm just Vaygr.
And how often I'll come up with new ship? This depends only on the RL work (school projects mostly). More work, less ships. Right now I don't have that much time, but I've been though much worse times.

Just a tiny video presenting the WIP Missile Battlecruiser and the antenna animation (it wouldn't fit in full length, so the antenna is retractable. It looks nicer when it's not colliding with the Shipyard mesh.)
