In part 1, all the missiles were vulnerable to the ECM and therefore all of them miss. In part 2, 1 missile hits each aircraft while the other misses (probability of hitting = 60%). If anyone thinks this number should be changed or has a better idea to enhance the hit/miss probabilities please suggest it.

Nice, this adds some realism to air to air combat. Will all aircraft have this ECM ability?

It depends on the aircraft, if it has ECM in real life then it should have ECM in the game.

Nice but I think probability of hitting standing still object should be higher, its not interesting to see professional pilot cant down just a single helicopter.

Yes very true, since the ECM weapon can be easily configured to be less effective, helicopters will have a less effective one against aircraft missiles and SAM missiles only. That is done by decreasing the ECM weapon damage, speed, and range, or by increasing the missile subdual damage cap on some missiles only which gives a hit probability of 80% or 90% against helicopters but 60% against aircrafts. Idea Accepted :)

But that would make helicopters very weak...then you should make helicopters much more cheaper like in RL :).
And this mod is awesome xD, keep up a good work :)

That will make them weak against fighter aircrafts which is very realistic. Its too early to think about unit costs but for sure helicopters will be cheaper than fighters. idea accepted :)

Or making aircraft more expensive than normal units.

is that code stolen from Ecm tank? to be honest it doesn't look nice to see the red color around the jet. am sure you will find a way to get rid of the red color and add something more realistic.

Read the description of the video on the right. Yes it was taken from the ECM tank & then heavily modified. Removing the red stuff is as simple as deleting 4 words in one line of code.

You can not "steal" something that is in the original code.
And you can not steal work from EA as they allowed modders to use it.
You can steal other mods textures and models, but he didn't do this..

Description

The new improved code for aircraft ECM (Electronic Counter Measures) is ready. When a BVR missile approaches an aircraft equipped with a jamming pod or ECM, the aircraft fires a weapon which causes the missile to lose lock and explode at some distance after passing the aircraft. We improved the ECM tank weapon code and then used the PointDefenseLaserUpdate behavior to fire the weapon when the missile is at a specific distance from the aircraft. Build variations of AIM120 missiles were used to control hit/miss probabilities. Two more ideas regarding behavior modules were used to prevent the missiles from scattering on the ground.

I hope you like the video
