How are the squads going to work?

Currently, they use the angry mob logic. I might revise their logic later and i might keep it the same but i am currently busy trying to find new ways to code things with this engine. Like for example, I might be able to make it possible to call ground reinforcements off the map and then they become under player control just like previous C&C games. Also, i am trying to make it possible to choose different load outs for the same Aircraft. Another, idea is ordering units instead of building them on the battlefield.

good work.

Add the t-14 and t-15 to make the mod different in contents from others ones. and change bmp-2 with kurganets-25.

thnx

I will add both of them when i am done with the mod. The priority is to finish the project with the current unit list first. I am expecting next February to be a very active development month for this mod. If progress is poor i will hire artists to texture these units but i wont do that until i finish coding it first.

May I ask: why is there so much overlap in, what I assume, are the unit roles? You could achieve the same effect and have much less work if you'd reduce this a bit.

I can only give advice obviously, but I'd go with unit roles first and then decide what to use, like this: Abload.de Your units are fine for visual choices, though.

Maybe Zerohour/SAGE is not the best engine for a mod like Red Phoenix Rising. RPR is not an arcade mod where units smash each other to death with 100 overkill shots at close range. RPR is a Military chess board. Also, It aims to be as close as possible to reality without sacrificing the fun. For example every unit has a different role and the range can be the entire map like the ISKANDER SRBM. Islander is not artillery, its like a tactical long range weapon. For the RPG troopers, you have the light, medium and heavy antitank units. The light ones are available immediately at the start of the game and as you gain in rank, you get the mid and heavy anti tank units. Squads are basically the same infantry but instead you get them all at once. I mean you get 1 of each type by using a single click and thus saving time which also stays balanced as you already spent more money. Regarding the TOR-M1, it is an anti ballistic missile system to stop SRBMs and other precision guided munitions. This idea is borrowed from Supreme Commander 1. The Tunguska is considered light AA. BM-30 Smerch is like a heavy rocket artillery while 2S19 MSTA is a heavy mobile artillery gun. Again its the same story with MBTs, you have light, mid and heavy. Some are available at the beginning and others at late game. This idea goes well with the idea of having 3 types of Anti tank units. The PAKFA is the only Russian stealth aircraft and needs to stay. It is detected at less range than normal aircraft. Mig-29 is a light fighter which carries less missiles, has less range and is available at early game. Su-35 is an upgrade to Su-27 which is the main fighter aircraft. Su-35 or PAKFA will be used to carry anti-radiation missiles to target enemy radars only. Su-25 is a ground attack / support aircraft which will be primarily used to hunt tanks and moving ground targets. It is less prone to manpads when compared to helicopters but not entirely safe from them. Maybe i should remove the BM-21 Grad as it might be a repetitive thing but BM-21 is almost totally inaccurate and packs a lot of firepower which makes possible for a different style of play. Its a hard choice! In the end, more work doesn't matter. What matters is the quality of the finished product.

Description

There wont be any changes to this unit list other than upgrades. For example, there might be an upgrade from BMP-2 to BMP-3 or an upgrade from Metis-M to Kornet. Also, the T-14 ARMATA Tank might be included in the mod.
