Real War is a total conversion for C&C Generals Zero Hour, it's goal is to create gameplay that would feel much more like a real action rather then a clash of toys, staying at the same time competitive game. With realistic units, realistic FX, and realistic tactics we intend to create RTS experience of authenticity level never seen before. The sides include US Army, Armed forces of Russian Federation, and Chinese People's Liberation Army. Each with unique units, buildings and upgrades.
scary, very nice though.
Ooh, lots of missles I see!! heh heh! :D lmao!
Damn I want to see some screen shots of this bad boy in action!
I prefer the MLRS
Great model and texture, and it looks scary as hell :D
NOTE: There seems to be a typo, on the caption it says TOS-1 but in the picture, it says TOC-1, which one is the right one?
No, Cryptex, everything is correct, since we use russian spelling on AFRF units, and in russian this vehicle is called Тяжелая Огневая Система (Heavy Flamethrower System) == ТОС.
TOS is just the transliteration.
so wouldn't it be HFS?
Yes. HFS stands for Heavy flamethrower system, that's its abbreviation in english.
Well, surely it doesn't launch flame.
And the exact translation is something like Heavy Fire System, or maybe Heavy Fire-Support System. It supports advancing troops by firing fuel-air missiles to large ranges, up to 5-6 km. Well, not large ranges, but ranges that exceed average direct fire ranges.
Hmm however it doesn't use any kind of flame (the flame appears only after the ignition later after the shot AFAIK) indeed so I guess it might be called fire-support system but it won't be the literally translated name anyway
While its designation is literally Heavy Flamethrower System, it doesn't actually 'throw' flame so to speak, and the name is only due to transliteration. It launches thermobaric missiles, or in layman's terms, fuel air bombs.
Its NATO designation is actually a MRLS. :=)
Correction, it's MRL. :>
Nope. You're wrong.
The original full name is Тяжёлая огнемётная система (ТОС-1) ("Буратино"). "Тяжёлая огнемётная система" is correctly and exactly translated (i don't speak about its purpose or actual type of ammo) as "heavy FLAMETHROWER system".
P.S. Yes, I am a russian )))
I made it clear for those who don't speak russian. I know its Heavy Flamethrower System. Though I want people not to be mislead by its name. It isn't a flamethrower.
Well, pretty much it IS a closest to the flamethrower thing, considering it's application. It's not a tank, right? Neither it is an indirect fire support vehicle, nor MLRS in it's classic meaning. It's a direct fire antimatter weapon, that's why it has such a name.
Kicks ***, anyway :)
Windows Vista translator gadget says it's a Heavy Ognevaya System. I have no idea what a Ognevaya is.
It's not ognevaya, it's ognemiotnaya - flamethrowing.
огневой системой можно назвать любую пушку, пулемет и т.д
а это все таки огнемет
*Gasp!* you stole the Buritano from Shock Wave! (Lol, I know you didn't)
wahhhahahahahaha with this i will blow all of my enemy
Can C&c Create an ideal that is can be considered compete Reality?
Класс!
