RCOM or 'Realistic' 'Combat' 'Overhaul' 'Mod' is a mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat that aims to bring in a greater emphasis on realism. After years of no development, I have returned to release a new version of RCOM as an addom to "Call of Chernobyl"
I didn't die. I'm also almost done rebuilding and revamping RCOM as an add on for 'Call of Chernobyl'.
The Coc team created something awesome. Props to them! I burnt out in the middle of filling out new levels for RCOM, and only have the time/energy/motivation to port the combat portions of AI to CoC, since that seems to be the de facto "vanilla stalker" game now.
A beta is done. I need to do some clean up and write a readme before release. Coming VERY soon!
Exciting news! I always thought yours was the best STALKER mod for gunplay and combat in general, so I can't wait to see how you've adapted it for CoC.
It plays very similar so far. The biggest change is how armor works.
- All armor calculations are now location specific. No suit gives generic protection to the whole body.
- Armor protection's are based on real world II,II,and IV classifications.
- Bullets that don't penetrate armor do significantly reduced damage.
- Bullets that do penetrate armor do damage proportional to how well they penetrate the armor. Anything that armor slows down reduces damage at least a slight bit.
- Armor only covers where it is shown on in game models. Hands, arms, legs, ect are exposed in most suits.
The death animation looks ******* brutal!
Well, you die a lot in RCOM...so I figured the deaths should be more interesting.

I was burnt out of modding from coding at my job. Once I noticed CoC (basically a new Stalker game) was released I figured I should come update RCOM.
