Republic Assault is a full scale conversion mod for the Petroglyphy game Star Wars Forces of Corruption. Using elements from both the current canon, and existing EU to create the best possible game experience.
So bit of backstory to some of these weapons.
First, torpedoes have been reworked. They still go through shields, but their damage, and speed has been greatly reduced. They are now able to fire on fighters as well.
To replace the old torpedoes, come proton bombs. They're slower than a turtle, deal a ton of damage, and will more than likely, not direct itself at a new target if the old one dies. However, if you do manage to get a hit with a proton bomb, say bye to that hardpoint.
Fighter classes:
•Fighter - Capable of fighting smaller ships like corvettes, just bring multiple squadrons.
•Bomber - Specializes in raining devastation on your enemy. Don't expect to hit a corvette though.
•Interceptor - Good for dealing with other fighters.
•Fighter-ceptor - Will do an interceptor's, or fighter's job. Just not as well as the real thing.
•Fighter-bomber - Able to make a boom, and deal with those pesky corvettes.

Tried that with the TIE Fighter awhile back. That put far too much strain on the performance of the game for my tastes.
