Republic Assault is a full scale conversion mod for the Petroglyphy game Star Wars Forces of Corruption. Using elements from both the current canon, and existing EU to create the best possible game experience.
Finished the second variation of the Vindicator hull.
Not much of a change removed hangarbay, for more internal power generation, stronger shields, adding 2 Ion cannons and 2 Long Range MTL´s.
Weaponcount:
10x Light Turbolaser turrets
10x Medium Quad Turbolaser turrets
6x Medium Long Range Turbolaser turrets
2x Single Ball Ion Cannon turrets (trench)
2x Concussion Missile Launchers with 12 tubes each
Polygoncount is 150k
Design by Fractalsponge.net (Vindicator Hull)
Beautiful.
Looking good, hope the polly count isn't too high. Eagerly waiting for this mod's next version :)
Even if the poly count were within acceptable parameters, this ship probably wouldn't come to the mod as it was created by the Pentastar Alignment after the Battle of Endor, way out of the mod's time-frame.
It's a great model though, I'll say that.
Love the model but there is one thing that bugs me
This ship was fielded by Pentaster Alignment which was a post endor faction not the Empire
Judging by that logic you should have the the New republic in as well
Its good that you guys are putting a few empire ships to represent the post clone wars era but judging by the amount of imperial ships that were developed just or well into the GCW kinda confuses me
Sorry about being a that guy
Many of these high poly ships, are just Elratie showing off his work.
However, I do have plans for some ships in the CIS Holdout era as they're low poly (Kontos, Vigil, Fulgor, ISD).
While some of the newer ships (Interdictor, Vindicator, Allegiance) will have a fair amount of details stripped down for EaW.
I just hope that all these high-poly ships later don't become a problem while the game is running
Looks great. NO. Fantastic!
Mandatory question: why no hangar? As I understand it, the reason the Enforcer was such a powerful design was because it was built on the principles (and skeleton) of the original Vindicator (which was itself excellent) but with the enhanced reactors developed for the later Immobilizer Frigate, which allowed more power for shields, engines, and weapons. According to wikia, it even gained an additional squadron (more space somehow?). Now, is that LEGACY Enforcer a little too much to swallow... yeeeeaah. Maybe just not have the EXTRA squadron. :D
Thanks ^^
Somewhere i did read that it had no hangar, also there would be no need to name it as a new class, just name it Vindicator 2, slap the better generators on it and call it a day.
On Wookie is also no mention of fighter squadrons on this ship Starwars.wikia.com
If someone dosent like it as what i made it, call it artistic freedome :p
There are lot of artistic freedom in SW designs. But from military side - ships without fighter escort are just cannon fodder.
I don't say - it need to storage tons of bombers - but those 1-2 squadrons of dedicated fighters (without hangar) will suit.
Nice ship by the way!
The Enforcer-class doesn't have a hangar at all.
In terms of use and role, the Enforcer is to the Vindicator what the Tector is to the ISD-I.
The Pentastar Alignment developed the Enforcer as a quick-to-build fast picket cruiser to fill out its ranks and to increase its fleet numbers.
The Enforcer could fight light to medium capital ships and fighters equally good due to its mixed armaments so it didn't really need always a fighter screen.
Yes - you are both correct regarding the hangar. I apologize. I try to keep as much to Wikipedia as possible, but many times I go to other sites/sources to fill in details. I checked and in this instance (Holopedia), there was a conflict between sources, and obviously Wikia wins out. Sorry for the confusion. :D
There is no term "it didn't need a fighter screen". All ships need a fighter screen, or are dead.
Unless the author sets the probability of firing by fighters to ships so low that the fighters will only fly and look nice. Otherwise, fighters always win.
