This mod REQUIRES GZDoom 4.5 (4.10 recommended). This is a gameplay mod for DOOM II, Final DOOM, and FreeDOOM that aims to adapt the mechanics and weapons of the Ratchet & Clank series into GZDoom. There are a total of 27 weapons that can all be leveled up through the acquisition of XP, with all but the Omniwrench transforming at V5. Maximum health can be increased in the same fashion, reaching a maximum of 400. You'll be facing off against an extended bestiary with more complex behaviors than your standard DOOM monsters. The package contains modified versions of gleasspty's weapon wheel, Xaser's DAMNUMS, and Sgt_Mark_IV's Bolognese gore mod. Lastly, a mapset is in the works for this mod. Any and all help is welcome on this front.

This is an update about the maps being made for Hot and Bothered, namely how I'll be releasing them.

I've spent quite a while trying to figure out how to go about releasing the maps. I don't want to wait until they're all done and shove them out at once as that will take a very long time. Besides, I would very much like player feedback since I'm still a bit of a mapping newbie.

With the addition of the new weapon pairs exclusive to the maps, I have come to a decision.

When I have something worth showing, I will post an article with a Mega.nz download link to get the goods. These will be very short, likely archived articles, and the files will be zips containing rc.pk3 itself with any new maps already included for your convenience. If any other files get altered, you'll find them in the archive as well.

With that being said, we have a WIP worth showing off! This one does not have any progress on the maps, but it does contain the new weapons. These can be used outside of Annihilation Nation through the console. Here are some useful commands you can use to play around with them.

  • summon flamerpickup/grinderpickup/hydrapickup (choose one of these three slash-separated items!) - Spawns the weapon pod at your feet which you can collect.
  • give flamer/grinder/hydra (again, choose one of the slash-sparated items) - Places the respective weapon directly into your inventory for immediate use.
  • give weapons - Just throws any base weapons you don't already have into your inventory along with an ammo refill for everything.
  • give superweapons - This is a custom inventory item in the mod that gives you all V5 weapons and raises the wrench to V10!
  • give ammo - More than an ammo refill. Because XP is coded as an ammo type, this command will instantly level up all weapons in addition to giving +5 Nanotech.

This archive contains the following.

  • rc.pk3 with the new weapons and a fewscript and sound tweaks.
  • rc_WeaponWheel.pk3, so the new weapons can be accessed from there.
  • Documentation folder; I'm going to include this with every WIP release to keep things kosher with credits as well as provide the changelog so you nice folks can see what's new.

Just wanted to say i’m loving the update so far. all 3 weapons feel great and balanced in my opinion, The Electro Grinder is probably the most addictive to use, i’m happy the Pyrocitor was adding because i was thinking about it. and the spitting hydra was not something i knew i wanted but needed. And the weapon wheel is the best thing to be added (though abit laggy, could be just me) everything is great.

Happy to hear it! And yeah, I've been using the weapon wheel in my mods since 2016. It's laggy no matter how beefy your system is from what I've seen. I don't know if gleasspty ever found a fix for it.

I noticed with the last update you fixed the wrench issue (Or non issue) where if you throw the wrench it would bounce and ricochets off the walls and roofs multiple times really fast . idk if that was intentional or not or if that was a issue you couldn’t address yet but i really loved it and eveytime i hold the wrench i would just throw it around and just watch it bounce around and ricochet and was the most satisfying thing to do any game i ever played. when i got stuck on levels and look around i would just throw it repeatedly . I even did a wrench only run because of how satisfying it was. i don’t know where i’m going with this now but i’m curious about your opinion about that, because personally i loved it but that’s totally fine if you thought it was a issue that wasn’t supposed to work that way.

It was completely intentional from the start, but I found it a bit overpowered for a starting weapon. Instead of getting rid of it though, I made it the wrench's big upgrade at V5 along with faster swings. So, once you get it there, you'll have the badass wrench back! :)

Ah alright but Yoooo i just saw this message and tttthank you so much, i haven’t noticed it probably yet because all i been using is the Spiral. at least it’s not gone. Thanks again for considering keeping it in :D
