Raising the Bar is a mod based off of the idea of amalgamating the earliest concepts of Half-Life 2 into a coherent story. This mod is not a leak-fix, nor is it a concept art recreation gallery; it will be a full story with inspiration from the old material as well as our own ideas of how to make it all fit together.
Since we stated that we'll be going through and remaking pretty much all of our old maps, here's our take on the City 17 Trainstation. We based it heavily off of the concept art found in the Raising the Bar book, as one should be able to tell, but we did add our own little twist to it. This won't be the only time you'll be seeing content about this level though, as there will be quite a bit more later on related to other areas within the map.
That bloom coming up from the crevice seems a bit jarring, any plans on editing that down or adding some sort of darker drop-down? Otherwise, vast improvement over the last one, keep it up guys.
Yeah tone it down a bit but it's nice, a little surrealism never hurts. As long as it doesn't break suspension of disbelief and game-play why not? Maybe it's a deep hole that goes into the earth's crust where combine are mining things and have set up huge floodlights. Who knows... we don't need to know, leave something for imagination.
Maybe make it less regular? the crack. I always try to put a story behind an area. (This building was built in 18th century then combine comes in early 21 century and adds things then some accident deep underground happens/ floor caves in but combine decides to try to patch it up partially and still use the station)
This sort of thing and then build with this in mind to make it feel believable.

You seem to have a crack in the floor, that there is a hazard.
Good, but you need more levels underneath. Try to make it more like this Vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net piece of concept art. Besides that a bit more propaganda posters would be nice, but good job.

Would be cool if the map was a little bit less wide, more like on Concept Art. I don't know if this is possible in Source Engine (1), but could you please make this glowing a little bit deeper, it's too high, on a Trainstation Design by Victor Antonov glowing is represented in such way, that you can see metal bars under the arch in the beggining of the Trainstation and it goes all the way down + it's less wide and has more train tracks under the first one, anyway - good job!

Its a WIP the end result will be stunning and exacly same as in concept arts, Were making the total remake of HL2 Raising the Bar so no need to worry :)
