Hello all! Thank you for following our Half-Life 2 Mod, Raindrop. As most of you may know, we are no longer developing this mod using the Source Engine or the OGRE engine. Although development has ceased for our previous plans, we have recently begun to establish a new version of Raindrop, using Unity3D. Please visit and watch our new indieDB page for more information and media. Thank you.

We've ceased development for the Source Engine, not Unity3D.

Be careful not to let feature-creep get the better of you. Getting the game finished on any old engine is better than almost finishing it on your engine of choice. Best of luck though, I look forward to seeing more updates. :)

If I remember correctly, wasn't there some issues where development of Raindrop went over to the cry engine without the consent of the original developers?

Are the developers of the current Raindrop game the original Raindrop mod developers?

Cheers

Yes, that is roughly what happened. A previous team member attempted to port the mod to various engines, while posting media without approval.

However, that is no longer an issue. The current developers of the game are the original core members from the mod.

thats a pretty good idea, theres no reason not to give love to other people who work with the source engine. They could really use the assets!

As zonbie said- it would be really awesome to play whatever you've created so far for the Source engine. I'd be happy to just walk around on the maps without the AI or anything and just admire the awesome map design and graphics :)

well well well well, if isn't Raindrop. If theres one zombie that doesn't stay dead it's, Star Wars Chronicles and Ivan's Secrets.

Why? D': So many awesome modifications for Source Engine 2007 have gone at other Engines... Ivan's Secrets - Cry engine... And Raindrop - Unity3D...

Yeh I'm with others on this. If you dropped support for the source engine. Atleast release the maps for walking and viewing pleasure....kinda like Dear Esther without sequences ;) Or release for a worthy game/mod deserving such beauty. Think about it?

Wow, this is cool news, was tracking this mod a long time ago.. But why change of engine, this mod looked unreal back in the days, and still good today. So why that change actually to Unity, of all engines..?

I'm still excited for this but am not as much as before. It was just breathtaking seeing all that since it WAS on Source. Now that it's moved to Unity3D there's no way in hell my PC can take it sadly.
