Proyect-Z is a MORPG (Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) set in a post-apocalyptic world. implemented with the Orange Box source engine (Half life 2 deathmatch modification). Using databases allow data persistence getting a similar experience to a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game), but due to limitations of the engine, map is divided into zones with loads between them. When the player has created his account to play, have a PJ (character) protected by a username and password. Each time a player leaves the game, the server stored in the database throughout the state of play: life, abilities, items, ammo, etc. When the player connect to the server using the username and password from any PC, he will have his character and inventory exactly as he left it last time.

Hi all,

I'm the coder of this mod.

Some time ago that I do not give support to the mod, because of my involvement in small commercial projects, which have absorbed all my time.

For the moment, I will continue in this way, so realistically I will not be able to finish the 2.0 version of the mod. In addition, the Valve's Source engine is not the most suitable for further development of a project like this. I want to do things right, so I'll keep working hard to make this project with the resources it deserves.

If the day comes, ProyectZ will completely re-programmed with another game engine and will be a commercial project.

At the moment there are no plans to make public the source code.

Special thanks to forum user anita, which host the mod server. The website will remain online, and also game server until anita wants.

Thank you very much everyone for your support, suggestions and general help you have given me all this time.

Well, whilst sad for the future of this mod, this post is a happy one.
I would love to see this idea/project become much bigger than it is and look forward to seeing where you take this

I'm glad you posted something about the mod, even though it was obviously dead.

The source engine might not be suited for this kind of game, yet in its current state it already is the best zombie survival game I've ever played.

i can second that the source engine is not the most suitable for something like this. that's why me reboot attempt with the Proyect-z mapper never went anywhere. unity 3D engine mite interest you its a good engine and an MMO can be made with it (battlestar galactica online runs on it).

Unity is too overrated, like angry birds. No, seriously i'm not sure that unity is the best engine to do it.

If you're still in need of a modeler, I'd give it a try, however I'll need a lot of Answers and I am not that good :p

I think that guys should use ID TECH 3 Engine if modified... There are is MD4 and MDR (<<< Skeletal Animation) for ID TECH 3 engine... Completed and I think that open arena also uses skeletal animation.

Anyway I think that ID Tech 3 would be suitable, maybe... IDk any other engine... that is suitable for MMO type

I have some suggestions that would really make this mod shine:
- Add more houses and buildings outside, and have them spread out.
- Add more levels, like hills and slopes.
- Add the SharpeYe and Legs additions from Garry's Mod, they would be EXCELLENT for this mod!!!1!
- Use more realistic weapons, the current ones don't even have any bobbing! I recommend using the CSS Realistic Weapons from Garry's Mod, or better yet, one of Siminov's weapons, since they have sprinting animations. Just reskin the hands to be bare, that way they are realistic.
- Add at least 5 more characters, if you have no 3D Modelers, then ask for permission to use some from Garrysmod.org users.
- Change the Merchant and Doctor skins from Kleiner & Eli to something new, again, if no models, see above idea.
- Add a selling feature to the merchant.
Please consider adding these features, they would make this mod so popular, I promise in the name of god. These will NOT fail you.

In the future when you do resume the mods developement I would be more than happy to contribute art assets ( 3D Models, Textures, Concept Art, Interface Art Design for a few examples) to help make this a fully realised game, mod or otherwise. I went to The Art Institute of Pittsburgh for Game Art and Design. So E-Mail me if you would like to take me up on my offer at drakevaliance@gmail.com
