Province: Cyrodiil is a mod for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. It aims to create the province of Cyrodiil, also known as the Imperial Province. This creation is based heavily upon the lore describing the region in The First Pocket Guide to the Empire. Many will recognise Cyrodiil as the province in TES4 Oblivion, but you will find that this iteration is vastly different and should provide many new experiences for TES fans.

How to join Province: Cyrodiil

Building a province is a lot of work. To successfully pull it off you need a team of modders with experience in various aspects of modding; from interior and exterior modders to questers and modelers. Knowing this we are opening up this project to help from the community in much the same way as Tamriel Rebuilt and Skyrim - Home of the Nords. To join simply go to the Province: Cyrodiil forums and find the Showcase thread. In there and post up a sample of your work.

Here are some guidelines to follow.

For Interiors: A two story home using a modular tileset and de_p furniture. Make sure it can fit an exterior shell and has a northmarker and proper light settings. The best tileset to use is Hlaalu from the vanilla game. We require de_p because it shows that you have good rotation skills and no matter what is thrown your way you will be able to create a working interior with items matching to the surface properly.

For Exteriors: A six cell showcase of new land with proper shading and a good layout of statics and textures. We are striving for a realistic province that will fit in with the rest of the TES III world as well as the other province mods being created. A showcase showing off your ability to create a more forested area would be beneficial.

For Quests: A sample quests showcasing your ability to write dialogue and a script of two. We want dialogue that fits the feel of The Elder Scrolls and scripting is an important part of questing that we will need to see.

For Models: A sample of your modeling work. A new mesh you have created (preferably a couple meshes) that fits into the TES world and hopefully the province of Cyrodiil. Look around the concept art for the project and creating a mesh that fits that would be a wonderful way to introduce yourself as a modeler for the project.

The lower screenshot looks like it is of a Spanish or Mexican town.

We went for a meditteranean look for Stirk based off the Empire being largely Roman in style.

Heh. One of my biggest gripes with Oblivion was how they basically made everything with the goal in mind of making it as generic as possible for the sake of mass appeal. That of course included totally ignoring the lore in multiple areas or in this case half-assedly ret-conning the entire climate of the imperial province with a few sentences that amounted to "I, Talos know you hate the swamp so MAGIC, Cyrodiil is now Middle Earth, because I love you!"

Tracking this for sure.

Which supposedly took 400 years before Morrowind, yet in Morrowind they speak of Cyrodiil and its jungles. We plan on giving it its jungle, the entire thing wont be jungle as that would make for a boring environment, but the great forest will actually be great this time around.

Oblivion took 20 years after Morrowind though.

No Oblivion is only around 6 years after Morrowind.

They didn't, they just based it off medieval europe and thus people assume it was for mass appeal.

I never really played Oblivion... but since you said "Imperial Province", and some references to this province, does it mean like half of the province is urban? Morrowind was quite rural, the only places that seem to be urban are the cantons of Vivec, some areas to the west of Morrowind, and the like...

Would anyone consider Dagoth Ur a fun place to stay?

Half of the province urban? Not really. More urban centers than Vvardenfell? Most certainly. There are a number of really large cities in Cyrodiil. Stirk, which is really just a large town on a small island contains something like 40 interiors which is well over most cities in Morrowind. When we are finished with Anvil, which is the first major city in the Gold Coast region it will have many more interiors than that. So while I would not consider half of the province to be urban, a large portion of it will be covered in dense jungle, I would say that there is going to be much more of an urban environment to explore.

You can find this download at Morrowind Nexus as well as Great House Fliggerty. I don't know why you would not be able to get the downloads here.
