This modification originally started out as a Defense Of The Ancients clone for UT2004, but a lot of game design elements had changed over time that it started to become its own game.

I am currently actively prototyping this game within RoboBlitz, and it is actually working already (with multiplayer), unlike most other Unreal Engine 3 modifications which are all in 'pre-production' phases. It is possible that two versions of this game will exist, one for RoboBlitz and one for Unreal Tournament 3.

The game is heavily team based and takes a new form of cover tactics. where as most other cover games are based on the fact whether players are in cover or not, this game looks from the perspective that players are always in cover but to what extent are they in cover?

Mixed with a skill system, onslaught like map node system ... I hope this game will be unique enough to stand out against all the other mods out there.

ProjectX update

News

Time for the compulsory monthly update! I've been hard at work on the artifical intelligence controlling the minion bots in ProjectX as well as working on other gameplay code. At this point, ProjectX is sort of playable. You can run around and shoot people, and they'll shoot back. But theres a lot more to it than that. Theres very rudimentary cover finding that occurs, but it's not very intelligent just yet.

Images of ingame development screenshots are found within the image gallery.

ProjectX's artists have been hard at work developing outstanding artwork for the game, ranging from weapon concept art, environmental art and character art. Some environmental art is already ingame. Again, all of these can be found in the image galleries!

I've decided to do a dual release, meaning that ProjectX should be available on both RoboBlitz and Unreal Tournament 3. I'm pretty sure that they won't be compatiable (that is RoboBlitz connecting to a Unreal Tournament 3 server). At this moment I'm not that keen to make a multiplayer version for RoboBlitz as its largely a hassle to do so [I've managed to do it and make RoboBlitz connect to another RoboBlitz server, but its pretty annoying]

Anyways enjoy!

Thanks guys :) I'm hoping this will be a fun and playable mod as well. I'm working hard on the code now, and I've got some great artists working with me now. I hope we can release some sort of prototype for RoboBlitz (maybe with just AI) but if UT3 isn't out we can always prepare a multiplayer version too.

I'm still shaping up and refining the game design and concept.

Thanks for watching this mod guys! :D

"this game looks from the perspective that players are always in cover but to what extent are they in cover?"

kinda like in Inquisitor by Games Workshop (it's a tabletop game:P)

anyways just a silly observation :)

looking good, it's nice to see that there are still mods out there that don't just stick with some ideas and concepts (but nothing gameplay wise), because those usually die fast.

you got something playable. most mods never even get in that stage. good job.

Hurrah! I knew I'd be famous someday!

Seriously though, it's good to see as many mods for UT3 come up so we'll have something good to play when the sheer euphoria of UT wears off.
