The map uses over 1000mb of RAM, and its not even close to done! [Please visit Average RAM amount? to give us a hand optimizing this MOD for more rigs!]
A pc around this: Pentium 4 @ 3.6ghz, 2GB ram, 7800GTX SLI will be able to run this map just fine on medium @ 720p. It will get around 40fps.
Currently the map is between 500k and 3.5mill tris.
The map uses the Exodus Pines pack - Big thanks to the Exodus team!

Project RIH - 04/12 UPDATE!

Overview:
Well, once again, its that time of year. Call this the ultra-late x-mas update for project RIH, or whatever, the fact is, its an update. Some stuff has changed, and the "Epic Scale Games" team has been working (hard...) on the mod. There's a bunch of new stuff (images AND videos) that we want to show you, of both gameplay and features. Hopefully you'll like it as much as we liked working on it.

In case you havent read the forum thread recently, since the last update DXslayer has joined Epic Scale Games.

New Features:
Quest System
Well, this is an RPGFPS game, so it NEEDS sidequests. The style is similar to that of STALKER or KOTOR (from GSC World and Bioware, respectively) and will allow for some really cool situations and sidequests in the game.

Facts
-Allows for ANY sidequest
-Allows for multiple outcomes
-Allows for dialog branching
-Simple to program

Videos
Really, its much more simple just to show you it rather than to try and explain it. Keep in mind, this is still very early in design, so its not 100% perfect right now. Also, this is an EXAMPLE quest, so you'll be seeing much more exiting stuff in the fututre.

Images:
Things have changed in the world of RIH, the vegetation has been improved as well as some totally new areas. So here are 13 new screenshots for you.

Technical Data:
Some of you have been a little bit worried about how well a map with over 67 square killometers of terrain would run, especially on average computers. So, here are some technical specs on the map itself.

Average RAM Usage: 1,200mb (about the same as Crysis Warhead)
Average Polygon #: 500,000 - 2,500,000
File Size (lite): Approxmiately 113mb

The Team:
In the november, we had a new member join us, so lets all welcome DXslayer to Project RIH. Yea, we know, its April, but we had to introduce him officially at some point.

Conclusion:
Once again, thank you all for the continued interest in Project RIH. Stay tuned for further updates, images and videos, all of which are available on Crymod. If you have any questions, ideas, or want to help out, feel free to post in the main Project RIH thread, and we'll asnwear your questions as soon as possible.

Looks nice, sounds like hills have eyes, but would be much better if there would be just couple handguns, and more melee weapons to make it more realistic and would be more realistic I think.

I think it's going to be more like stalker actually. We can probably be expecting ak's and what not. Just my guess though.

He he, also another question. How long has this mod been in development?

For the installation of the mod, we will probably package it with a .exe installer. However, for Crysis its fairly simple. Drag and drop the mod folder into C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis Wars\Mods.

For the length of development, this mod has been around in some insanely early stage for around 11 or so months - but this was basically just the terrain. When I teamed up with Megaqgzqgz, we started actually working on it. That was around 8 months ago.

I also had my computer break twice making me absent from development for like 5 months total. Also during this time development slowed down a decent amount. I came back in April and have helped add new areas as some shown and improved the vegetation!

Not to mention the large majority of the map that we HAVEN'T shown. I'd guess that there are pics of maybe.... 2-5% of the map?

What kind of file will the mod be? I'm asking because I have no idea where I would drop the file (ex: in STALKER it's gamedata, in halflife 2 it's source mods). An exe would be nice :D

Although in the video the player character has a nanosuit, the final version will NOT have the nanosuit available by default. When the game starts, the player will be in some standard armor / vest type gear, which will esentially reduce damage from bullets, but nothing more.

As the game progresses, you'll be able to unlock / buy / get better armour, and possibly a suit with a few of the powers from the nanosuit. Due to the fact that we are trying for a more realistic aproach, a super-suit with cloak, strength, speed and armour would be rather over powered. However, a single ability, such as cloak, matched with less-than-normal armour, or strength with less-than normal speed would balance this out.

Keep in mind, its still in development, so specifics on armour / items are still under development / secret :P
