Hello everybody, as you have seen in the news posts the timeline is now in the 24th century. As a small update to this I have begin to texture myself so there will be units in game and I could (although it would take much longer) do this mod myself, this means it will go somewhere. We also have a new member on the mod team Brody9311(Head of WICMMT) press and media help, plus Mangosofdoom(New Dawn mod leader) for writing the story. Much thanks there.
Now the story so far,

The year is 2348
The people of Horizon live on a world in the Proxima Centauri system. The oldest colony of humanity and as far as they could tell the last. All contact with Earth has ceased and their hyper space engine no longer function. They are alone. After a hundred years of civil war Horizon has finally stabilized a global government has been established and even a small amount of extra solar colonization is taking place albeit slower with only conventional FTL drives available. The people of Horizon had found some stability. That is until the fleeing remnants of Earth arrived on an old abandoned garden world in a nearby sector. The world had not been discovered and the remnant fleet merely stumbled upon it. Setting up home base and renaming the world New Earth they also went about rebuilding their empire. For another 20 years neither side was aware of the others existence. Until 2346. The New Earth Republic wishes to reunite humanity and its shattered empire (there are other worlds out there just small desperate colonies left over from the event discovered during the war we are discussing) together under one banner. However the People of horizon fear another Earth colonization and refuse. Relations devolve from there until Earth loyalists (extremists) attack and destroy a world on the border (hoping to start such a war confident the New Earth Republic will win) Their plan works and Horizon (need a better name for the governing body) responds by attacking worlds along the border. With this act the entire region breaks out into war, as the last of humanity grapple at one another's throats attempting to bring about their own extinction.
This is just part of the whole story, more will be said later. All kudos to Mangosofdoom for doing this, it has been a lot help.
I will also post a list of any help I may need for this mod later so people know if they want to help what is needed.

Lol, no. This is a ground based game and so the combat will be, you will have some ships come into low orbit to support ground fighting but it will be tanks, APC, ect. This is the story on why these ground battles are happening.
the general concept is the idea of humanity being stranded by their inability to use warp drives. Ships transport soldiers to other worlds and support them from orbit but you need ground forces to secure objective on the ground that you don't want to be a big crater.
