As the war continues, the old Gattling Tank can no longer satisfy the need of the front – just like many others. Despite fierce firepower of six-barreled 30mm machine gun, old Gattling Tanks, equipped only with simple fire-control system, can neither detect nor destroy GLA airborne targets, who have "inherited" advanced aircrafts from American forces. GLA constantly concentrate these fast, stealthy attack helicopters, whizzing through the battleground while pouring whistling Hellfire missiles onto the head of Battlemaster Tanks, leaving lines of burning steel behind. To cope with this emerging problem, Chinese engineers refit the Gatling Tank with smaller 25mm gun, leaving room not only for additional munition but also for a new advanced air-detection radar to deal with those buzzling Comanches. To intensify firepower against Soviet-produced helicopters, the new Gattling Tank is also externally fit with HN-6 MANPAD missiles. Unfortunately, due to limited supply of this new vehicular radar, a large proportion of Chinese forces still have to rely on their training and exercise instead of fancy new vehicle.
