Some days ago, a critical bug was found in the variable system introduced in PCM II: if a game was saved and later restored, all of the variable info would be lost and would not be able to be restored. Therefore, the main purpose of this update is to fix this issue. Since the save game file format had to be changed in order to fix this bug, PCM II 2.1a won’t be able to open games saved in 2.1 or 2.0.
Additionally, the maximum number of possible variables has been increased to 256 (thanks to JustTesting1234, for suggesting), and the useless option to “Extend Population Cap to 1000” has been removed from the installer.
If you have installed 2.1 already, you do not need to download the full installer again: just head to the download section and download the update! But, if you have any of the previous versions (2.0 or 1.9), you’ll need to download the full installer.
So, do not forget to grab it at the Download section of PCM II and happy playing!
