Portal Taste The Cake: Part 1

Part 1 of our mod is designed to make the player feel as though they have actually gotten away with cheating Aperture Science, and not to reveal too much, I'll just say that you do. Viewers of our mod may have noticed that we used some Portal: Prelude and Portal Flash Version material, and while this is true, we would like to tell you that 1) We have permission, since its even said in the video, and 2) This is to give the players an idea of where they really are within the facility, since in later parts such as 4 or 5 the basic layout of the laboratories will be needed. Combining Portal, Portal: Prelude, and Portal Flash Version maps within ours will make the lab more believable and create a larger range of just how huge the facility really is. Some places are made up too, as you will see in the first map. This is in order to make the Portal storyline fall into Half-Life's, since some aspects of Black Mesa and the Combine may be introduced, such as their technology (If people can steal from Aperture Science and get away with it, why not vice versa?).

On a harsher note, as the trailer has mentioned in it's description, this mod does involve flashing lights that repeat rather fast as time goes on, so if you are prone to seizures, warn me so that I can either tell you when you'll need to look away or I will make a special version with a darker flashing effect. You can PM me the message.

Anyway, within the first second of starting the mod, there will always be text upon the screen, so you will indeed need to be able to read, at least above a 5th grade education level. You will learn why it is text rather than audio rather quickly as well, and the technology that allows it will become very helpful in the later parts of Taste The Cake. Please note that we use a color scheme for the text that appears to show which character is saying what, or what system is informing you of information. The first text that appears while the screen is black (the text is blue) is not a character, but is an intro of sorts to tell you the basic story that you know, or are assumed to know. Other text such as white, orange, and red do appear in game, with the orange and red showing who they are, white, not so much, at least not yet. If you are indeed color blind, I can make a special version that has each color have a name before it, to show who it is.

Now, we at Masters Inc. would like to say thank you for helping us help you help us all.
And if you fulfill any of situations listed above, please PM me so that I can get a count of how many people will need these issues fixed for them.
