On January 13, 2007 the POE Development Team was awarded the #1 Mod of the Year here at moddb.com. This was a great accomplishment for the team and for our community! The team appreciates all of the support our fans have provided and receiving this award is motivating the group to continue development with POE:2. We congratulate Project Reality for becoming #2 MOTY, and Forgotten Hope 2 for being awarded #2 Most Anticipated Mods of 2006. This is a huge victory for the Battlefield:2 gaming community - please show your support by downloading the mods and playing them online!
A lot of things changed in the Battlefield:2 community with people playing the different mods online. From the difficulty of mod support in the latest BF:2 patch to having another major Battlefield title released to the community the amount of players has dwindled. We were hoping that people would come back to playing Battlefield:2 once they got their fill of playing the new title.
To help both new players of our mod and former ones that need to reload the mod, we've decided to re-release the current build as one simple download. It will contain an install program that will install POE:2 fully onto your computer with all of the original POE:2 maps, BF:2 ported maps, and the maps from the level design contest. Hypernia will have the files available via Hypernia's bit torrent site, their high speed data silo server in the UK, and from a server here in the USA. We will provide other download sites once we have the files mirrored. A note about the client install program, it verifies itself before starting, but the window showing this doesn't always appear so users might not know that the installer has started.

We are recruiting! Additional resources are needed on the development team and are looking forward to evaluating new applicants. We are in need of 3d Modelers, 2d Skinners, and Battlefield Coders. Experience with NavMeshing, exporting from 3DMax, and tweaking/editing Battlefield:2 code are key things we are looking for. Just click on the Join the Team link and submit your information. **Testers are also needed** - with development progress moving forward we need new testers to assist us with quality control.
